Well it looks like the liberals have stepped in it again and Obama backed the wrong horse.

If you haven't been following the latest a certain 911 call was received by the Cambridge (MASS) Police Dept. about a breaking and entry. When the cops responded it happened to be at the home of a Prof. Gates. A man and Harvard Prof who has made a living off race baiting.

You see...Gates had his house broken in to recently and the crooks busted the door. He did not get his lock fixed so he himself had to bust in his door to get in. A concerned citizen saw it and called the cops. A Sgt. Crowley responded and asked Gates if he had ID.

According to ALL witnesses Gates exploded on him calling the police officer a racist and that his rights were being violated. Uncooperative the cops arrested him.

Obama being a friend and an elitest like Gates said the cops acted "stupidly" and for a few days Gates and Obama ran with it.

Now it has come out that Gates was the one out of control and the Obama Admin is in damage control and has invited both Crowley and Gates to the White House to put the issue to rest.

Nice Move Obama.

Below is a CNN clip of African American police officers PRETTY upset at Obama and his rush to judgement.

Great clip!

It would appear that Obama has exposed himself for the ignorant piece of crap he is. On another thread Gopher stated that Gates will sue the police department and win millions. So typical of the fringe...unable to accept a fact even if beaten over the head with it. I really hope Crowley takes legal action against these racist pricks.

Well that is what Gates was thinking until he found out they were not lying down for this. He was looking for that BIG PAYDAY...Speaking engagements...how he was brutalized. Now he just wants it behind him.

The only hope Gates has is that Cambridge is also known as "The Peoples Republic of Cambridge" and the liberal city fath... errrr...humans order the CPD to let it go.

Obama and Gates were the only ones to act "STUPIDLY" in this.

Well Gates makes a living race baiting and teaching race baiting. All while he vacations on his Marthas Vineyard home and collecting a HUGE Harvard salary for pitting poor and middle class minorities against poor and middle class white people.

This guy is no Rodney King I assure you.

Witnesses are saying that Sgt. Crowley just asked him for ID to ensure he was the rightful owner of the house since he was seen kicking in the door.

To which Gates started screaming at Crowley calling him a racist.

Who is the racist Prof Gates? WHo is the racist Obama? Talk about a rush to judgement.

Now Obama has to eat crow and share a beer at the White House with a lowly hard working police officer in hopes that he will end this embarrassing fiasco.

Silverglate might have a point if Gates was arrested simply for being rude to a cop. Leave it to a civil rights attorney to twist the truth. They do stand to gain by making cops into the bogey man.

what was he arrested for then?

Disorderly conduct. Perhaps you should brush up on the case before you jump in.

http://www.mass.gov/courts/courtsan...ions/criminal/pdf/7160-disorderly-conduct.pdf

DISORDERLY CONDUCT
The defendant is charged with disorderly conduct. In order to prove
the defendant guilty of this offense, the Commonwealth must prove three
things beyond a reasonable doubt:
First: The Commonwealth must prove that the defendant involved
himself (herself) in at least one of the following actions: he (she) either
engaged in fighting or threatening, or engaged in violent or tumultuous
behavior or created a hazardous or physically offensive condition by an act
that served no legitimate purpose of the defendant’s;
Second: The Commonwealth must prove beyond a reasonable doubt
that the defendant’s actions were reasonably likely to affect the public; and
Third: The Commonwealth must prove beyond a reasonable doubt
that the defendant either intended to cause public inconvenience,
annoyance or alarm, or recklessly created a risk of public inconvenience,
annoyance or alarm.

and maybe you should learn to read, Mr. Silverglate did specify what the charge was AND explained how it is used.

By longstanding but unfortunate (and, in my view, clearly unconstitutional) practice in Cambridge and across the country, the charge of disorderly conduct is frequently lodged when the citizen restricts his response to the officer to mere verbal unpleasantness. (When the citizen gets physically unruly, the charge is upgraded to resisting arrest or assault and battery on an officer.) It would appear, from the available evidence--regardless of whether Gates' version or that of Officer Crowley is accepted--that Gates was arrested for saying, or perhaps yelling, things to Crowley that the sergeant did not want to hear.

Oh it wasn't a difficult read at all. Silvergate (and you for that matter) can believe Gates was arrested for rudeness. That doesn't make it so. It does beat the drums for civil rights lawyers however. Some people take the bait hooker line and stinker.

Then perhaps you should be a little more discerning and open minded when it comes to what you read.

Watch it Gerry, your agenda is showing. Mind you, it's not like that's a bad thing. It does say volumes that those that support this racist piece 'O' crap can't can't discuss the arrest without resorting to lies sleaze and childishness. Good gawd, I hope Crowley takes this slime bag to the cleaners.

What the cop SHOULD have done as soon as he was shown the ID was appologize for the inconvenience and went on his way....he didn't....he didn't even show ID when it was requested of him.

No. The Officer should not leave until he is convinced things are OK and there is no danger or crime in progress. You, with your limited understandings (due to your suspect reading material) have assumed that because Crowley was called to an apparent B&E, he should have left the minute he determined there wasn't a B&E and that he should have ignored the obvious agitation of Gates. Arm chair QB's like you would have been all over Crowley if it had, in fact, been a DD and Crowley walked away.

People like you, that have the benefit of hindsight(and really know nothing of police work), love to play Monday morning quarterback. The simple fact is that there wasn't much done wrong here...except for one rich prick throwing out the racist card because that is all he knows.

he didn't even show ID when it was requested of him.

...according to Gates but we all know how little cred he has. Perhaps if he wasn't yelling at Crowley he would have heard him give his name.
