Confederate Flag Group Charged For Threats Made At Black Child's Party

A group of white Confederate flag-supporters that interrupted a black child's birthday party in Douglasville, Georgia in July was charged with making "terroristic threats," and participating in criminal gang activity as The New York Times reported Monday.

Fifteen members who belong to the "Respect the Flag" group were indicted by a grand jury in Douglas County. Some had been arrested, others were in the process of being arrested, according to the New York Times.

The gang activity charge was allowed under the state's Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, which is “worded very broadly to deal with any type of activity that occurs with a group that’s organized that commits a crime," the county's district attorney said, according to the Times.

A group of white passengers in trucks with waving Confederate flags reportedly interrupted a black child's birthday party in July, according to The Atlanta Journal Constitution.

A woman who recorded the incident told The Atlanta Journal Constitution the passengers of the trucks were armed and threatened to, "kill y’all (N-words).”

Police arrived on scene and gave conflicting statements as to what led up to the incident, according to the newspaper.

It's people like that who give us Whites a bad name.

I like to wave my St. George's Cross at No-One-Is-Illegal rallies to show White support for open borders.

I was thinking of setting up an organization called Whites for Open Borders (WFOB).

Don't wave a flag anywhere for any reason.

I'll wave my crosses of St. Andrew and of St. Dyfed and clonk you over the head with them, as a symbol of white solidarity if you like.

I am extremely proud of the one with a big, red sugar maple leaf in the middle and I will wave it any damned time and place that I want to.

You can bring that one to the rally too. The more the merrier.

What small minded crackers and hispanics will do to entertain themselves. A bunch of adults are sitting around and decide the hee haw good times that memories are made of are to get in their pickups with their flags and guns and terrorize people on their own property. And the good old boys honky police didn't lay charges until the video came out despite being there at the time and wouldn't comment to the reporter as to why they didn't lay charges originally. Interesting that Georgia doesn't have hate crime laws so they were charged with terrorism.......

A Douglas County judge sentenced the defendants to a year longer in prison than the state was seeking: 13 years for Jose Torres and 6 years for Kayla Norton.

Their attorneys pled for lighter sentencing, saying that two other defendants, Thomas Charles Summers and Lacey Paul Henderson II, had pled guilty to terroristic threat and battery charges and received lighter sentences that Norton and Torres were facing.

Summers, is serving 4 years in prison and Henderson is serving two.

Superior Court Judge William McClain, however, said Torres and Norton would have to answer for their behavior.

He also called into question the Douglasville Police Department’s decision not to arrest any of the “Respect the Flag” group that day.

He called it “inexplicable” and “a very bad mistake.”
