White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer has responded to Melissa McCarthy's eye-wateringly accurate portrayal of him on Saturday Night Live, arguing the comedian's performance was over the top and SNL needs to stop being "mean" to the Trump administration.

Speaking to Extra at the Super Bowl in Houston, Texas, Spicer revealed he found out about the sketch while leaving church on Sunday morning US time.

He started receiving so many text messages he thought for a moment there was a national emergency.

It's getting clearer everyday that Trumpites are everything they claim to hate. The key word there is "claim". I'm not convince many of the Trumpites have a fiscally conservative bone in their bodies. Maybe that's because many are seniors and don't care about massive deficits because they won't have to pay. Maybe they're just afraid of losing entitlements. I suspect some don't care one whit about economic issues and are just happy Trump's doing something to make America white again. In any event, America has taken a sharp turn left, economically speaking and Trumpites seem quite OK with it.
