Senate Republicans pushed through a pair of President Trump’s Cabinet nominees Wednesday, upending standard committee rules to circumvent a Democratic boycott.

The Senate Finance Committee advanced a pair of Trump’s nominees with only Republican members present — Steven Mnuchin to head the Treasury Department, and Rep. Tom Price (R-Ga.) as secretary of Health and Human Services.

By unanimous consent, the Republicans gathered in the hearing room agreed to change the committee’s standing rules, which normally require at least one member of each party to be in attendance for committee work to proceed.

“It’s just another way of roughing up the president’s nominees,” said committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah). “They have been treated fairly. We have not been treated fairly.”

Republicans made the unusual move after Democrats refused to attend a vote on the nominees for two days running, arguing the pair had made misleading statements to lawmakers that needed to be rectified.

The nominees now head to the Senate floor, as partisan tensions over filling out Trump’s White House continued to intensify.

Good job. Stalling government over childish party dogma is not in the taxpayer's best interests and not what politicians were hired to do.
Bonus: 100% approval.

Great move! If the Democrat Minority intends to obstruct the majority they can expect more.

You have to love the Democrat call for unity when they thought Hillary was a sure thing.

But then reality struck.

Unity? Not so much.

That was a great trip...

Isn't it great how comments like that from Michelle, and unity, and accepting the election results were all the rage on the alt-left, liberals, and Democrat Party... until they lost.

Beauuuuutiful!

Are any boogie men hiding under your bed ?
No!! Boogie men don't exist but Hitler wanna be's do, Fortunately not all that many gain enough control to fulfill their ambitions. However, those of us that do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it,

I have noticed a lot of similarities between Hitler and the Democratic party too.
If you believe that you are among those referred to as the dumb-downing of America. Not seeing the difference is scary.

Read and weep!!

Read and weep? - more like read and wonder if you bothered to do so yourself. You see there is a glaring problem with your inference between what is happening in the States and what happened in Germany. It was hitler's henchmen - the brownshirts and the SS who were behind all the violence. In the States right now, it is the left-wing who are up-in-arms. When they start burning books in America, you can get back to me.

So........dead people can starve to death............interesting that, Cliffy.

Let's see... fixing the Democrat Primaries, Democrat mobs beating people senseless for differing opinions, suppression of Free Speech, vote suppression. Hitler would surely approve of the Democrats.

LOL Did you even watch some of Trumps pre-election meetings??? Good grief, his "body-guards" actually beat some of those who tried to pose questions Trump did not want to answer. Many attended those meetings for excitement!! Normal people stayed away!!

The problem came when many people did not vote because they felt Trump had no chance, Remember how many people in Quebec did not vote because they felt complacent about the outcome?? If you want a democracy, you must support it,

If most moderate countries are in opposition to most of Trump's ideas there is a good reason, Most do not want to have a world war!! The whole world is not wrong!!

Please post links on this, I can post links on Trumps meetings with ease,,,,,,So I am demanding you do the same,

Maybe YOU could post a link showing that Trump's body guards beat up on questioners. That is simply untrue!

Yes the whole world CAN be wrong and has been going the wrong way for decades. The wrong path they have gone down is what caused the anger and rebellion that got Trump elected.

Recognize the unique significance of violence employed as a deliberate campaign tactic.

On October 15, 2015, Trump supporters at a rally in Richmond, Virginia shoved and spat on immigrant-rights activists. It was the first documented assault in the Trump campaign. Between then and the Republican National Convention, by Slate’s accounting, Trump adherents were accused of (and in many cases recorded on video) assaulting protesters and journalists by shoving, sucker-punching, choking, spitting, knocking down, kicking, tackling, throwing eggs, and throwing rocks. The candidate himself was bellowing “Get ‘em outta here,” defending supporters who “roughed up” the opposition, and offering to pay the legal fees of anyone who took on a protester.

There are more but really,,... is it really necessary?? Encouraging violence sets the stage for a more violent world. Not a nice legacy to be leaving for those who hopefully will follow. Easy to destroy not so easy to use reason.
