Let's say it can be done in 10 years. For the US to be able to have reliable customers to export to it has to be a product they can't get anyplace else and at a cost lower than the competition is, if they exist. If they exist they will resist losing a customer base. America could see it as the 'moon mission', and all the new products invented along the way are in use today or have led to new products.

Quake proofing an elevated highway would call for a steel shell enclose all the concrete. It might be possible to reduce that to straps of webbing can be used at the joints and securing them prevents the total collapse of the roadway.

Ah, the Cdn Forces travel plan. The US forces plan was always better though. Cheap, cheap food in the mess halls and always an inexpensive place to rest your head.

I wonder if their hotel list is still available. Retired and active service members paid next to nothing for rooms all over NA and selected spots around the globe. Canadians could rent rooms as well.
