How Hillary Clinton responded to husband’s accusers

Hillary Clinton has wrestled with allegations surrounding her husband’s infidelities for much of their 40-year marriage, including a sexual harassment lawsuit, a grand jury investigation and an impeachment vote centered on his untruthfulness about a relationship with a White House intern.

Now, her Republican opponent Donald Trump and his surrogates have signaled that he may bring up the subject in the next presidential debate, treacherous territory, given his own infidelities and treatment of women.

Clinton’s friends say they have seen her deal with Bill Clinton’s conduct before, bristling at threats and countering them with steely determination. Her reaction, said longtime Arkansas friend Jim Blair, is to face accusers and respond thusly: “These people are not going to run over us.”

[From the archives: Hillary Clinton, trying to have it all]

Her detractors, though, say that Clinton has unfairly lashed out over the years at the women involved in her husband’s indiscretions. Her responses* have forced her to walk a fine line during the campaign on sexual assault issues, even as she builds strong political support among female voters.

Trump and his backers have kept the subject alive with taunting social-media messages, and this week, Trump congratulated himself for taking the high road Monday in the first debate by not saying something “extremely rough” about the Clinton family. He added that he might not show the same restraint at the next public forum on Oct. 9.

It's not what Billy did that makes this story a nasty one for Mrs. Klinton, it's how she treated the women with whom Billy had his trysts.

It is also about how she enabled him and made herself a doormat to keep her link to the political world through her husband. If she had possessed any self respect she would have dumped the slime ball years ago and made her political mark on her own.

I really think both of the Clintons are the lowest of the low.

Must really piss off control freaks to see someone getting a bit of free rein and forgiveness. Poor bitter folk.... There are pills for that

A bit of forgiveness? Forty years of forgiveness is not a bit, it's being a sucker. It's also quite an example to set for a daughter; 'Oh, men will be men! It's okay if he humps every woman he sees. Just keep on smiling and riding his coattails'.

Better person than you ... or hung like a horse. How does it concern you anyhow? You don't even have a say in the vote ... and she's paid a much higher price than you

So because he may be hung like a horse gives him an excuse . And why does it give her an excuse ?
Maybe she couldn't take it , and he needed substitutes , great .

So, what would Bill's many affairs have to do with Hillary's campaign? Should Melania's alleged history as a call girl affect the Donald? Is it anybody's business, either way?

1. She has made her mark on her own.

2. Though I don't excuse Bill's actions, divorce is not always the solution. Sometimes a person might have redeeming character traits that make forgiveness worthwhile. Again, I'm not excusing his actions, merely saying that divorce is not always the best solution.

So, what would Bill's many affairs have to do with Hillary's campaign? Should Melania's alleged history as a call girl affect the Donald? Is it anybody's business, either way?

Another good point. Why blame Hillary for Bill's actions?

Is she her brother's keeper?

It has nothing to do with this election but Hillary likes to sling mud so she'll have to be able to take it too. She continually brings up things from Trump's past that have nothing to do with the campaign and most of which are either untrue or grossly exaggerated.

Sling mud at a poor guy like Donald?
