They're probably just being sarcastic.

GOP Figures Disgusted By Trump Urging Russian Cyberattack

GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump, whose eventual electoral domestication seems to be forever around the next corner, pivoted back in the direction of the surreal and reprehensible Wednesday morning at a press conference in Doral, Florida. And once again, Trump is taking fire from fellow Republicans in a way that shatters all precedent, as disaffected conservatives receive one more sign that their party’s nominee is catastrophically unfit for office.

Trump managed to reinflame his antagonists throughout his press conference, where ― among sundry bewilderments ― he at one point seemed to confuse Democratic vice-presidential nominee Tim Kaine with former New Jersey Gov. Tom Kean.

But if any of his various statements at the press conference really stood out, it was probably the part where he called for state-sponsored Russian hackers to conduct cyber espionage on the United States for his electoral benefit. (Security experts have found evidence that Russia was involved in the hack, and subsequent leak, of a cache of Democratic National Committee emails, which has cast a shadow over the Democrats’ convention in Philadelphia this week.)

Referring to the 33,000 emails deleted from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s private email server, he addressed Russia like so: “Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing.”

And lest you think this was uttered in jest, he later reiterated the sentiment on Twitter:

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
If Russia or any other country or person has Hillary Clinton's 33,000 illegally deleted emails, perhaps they should share them with the FBI!

This fuss about Russian hackers is ludicrous! Of course Russia spys. All countries spy. U.S. spies as much as any other country.
It's just a distraction to get people's minds off the Democrats negligence, ignoring the threat they were warned about months ago by the FBI.
And what if it's true? There must be something pretty embarrassing or damaging in those e-mails or they wouldn't be in such a flap about it. There's nothing they can do about it anyway. A Russian hacker, a Russian citizen living in Russia, what are they going to do? Demand that he be extradited to they can punish him? Give me a break!
Hillary said there's nothing in those missing e-mails to worry about, just personal stuff about weddings and yoga and such. 33,000 e-mails would cover a lot of weddings and yoga wouldn't they?
I think the FBI, the Democrats and the media are just hoping they can keep up the distraction until people get sick of it and forget about it and then it will be 'business as usual'. Or should I say, 'Lies, as usual'?

Yep, just like Billy's secret meeting with the AG where they just happened to bump into each other nowhere near DC. You know, where they supposedly talked about family. Yeah, I'm sure Billy was talking quite a bit and pretty damn fast about one family member in particular. Next thing you know, Hillary is scott free. I wonder how much Clinton Foundation money she was bribed with.

Mentalcase you're so gawd damn predictable it's become boring. Same with those with conservative OCD. There's no credibility only groupie texts.

You mean the the GOP is officially in cahoots with Russisn intelligence and that it isn't just Trump acting alone?

Time to dust off the House Committee on Un-American Activities. One of the political parties is receiving aid from a military enemy.

No wonder Trump has so much contempt for veterans. He's a sell-out.

Do the Russian Oligarchs own Trump?

Are there any Trump links to Putin? - BBC News

If he is found to be directly connected to the Russian Oligarchs (It's hard for "big money" to not be) he is subject to execution as a traitor.

I thought Trump's comment on asking Russia to find Hillary's 33000 missing emails was actually pretty clever sarcasm. Most Americans don't 'get' sarcasm by the way.. which is probably why it (intentionally) went over the heads of the media and anti Trump forces.

It pointed out just how irresponsible and casual, to the point of negligence, Hillary was... and, in fact, like all good sarcasm.. there is a grain of truth in it. How do we know Russia doesn't already have the contents of Hillary's delete bin.

Only the DNC and the virulently anti Trump Republican Establishment would see Trump's lampoon as tantamount to treason.. and the reckless disregard for the security of classified documents, including those involving the security and safety of the military and diplomatic personnel, as a misdemeanor, a minor and excusable oversight.

The left in Canada is so scared of Trump because he'll make Troud'eau look like the pansie

Trudeau is a pansie... and someone like Trump would pluck him like a wilted daisy .

I'm sure Justin is twisting in his bed a night.. hoping a pushover like Hillary is elected.. so he can continue tiptoeing through the tulips with his love beads, his bong and rose tinted glasses.. unconcerned with trivial and bitter reality of this barbarian at the gate.

He is Nero playing his lyre while Rome burns.

Ever wonder why we need a foreign country to help us do what we should be capable of doing on our own?

It is only common sense that Russia (if it IS Russia) would only hack Democrats e-mails. It is the governing party that has the information spies are looking for. If a hacker wanted information from Republicans, he would hack into those of a Republican Congressman.
They wouldn't have any interest in Trump. Trump hasn't even been briefed yet on anything to do with national security. If
If the campaign e-mails were hacked, just think what else has been hacked considering Clinton's 'recklessness', pointed out clearly by the FBI.
This is only the tip of the iceberg, folks. Wait for the next revelation!
