Sen. Bernie Sanders fired back at 80 CEOs who wrote a letter lecturing America about deficit reduction by released a report detailing how 18 of these CEOs have wrecked the economy by evading taxes and outsourcing jobs. 80 CEO’s raised the ire of Sen. Sanders by publishing a letter in the Wall Street Journal urging America to act on the deficit, and reform Medicare and Medicaid.

Sen. Sanders responded to the lecture from America’s CEO’s by releasing a report that detailed how 18 of them have helped blow up the deficit and wreck the economy by outsourcing jobs and evading US taxes.

Eighteen of the 80 CEOs who signed the call for deficit action are actually some of the biggest outsourcers and tax cheats in America. First, they crashed the economy in 2008. They followed that up by taking billions in taxpayer bailout dollars. Their next step was to outsource jobs and evade taxes. Now they are calling for action on a deficit that they helped create over the past four years.

Bernie Sanders is exposing the hypocrisy of these CEOs, and every American should understand that if Mitt Romney is elected president, these pigs see potential for unlimited feeding from the taxpayer trough. Only by standing together can we tell these CEOs that the bill has come due, and it is time for them to pay.

We can tell these gluttons of our dollars that the all you can eat taxpayer buffet is now closed

Unlikely. but they could have owned the politicians that did though. OTH There does not seem to be much desire by the current holder of the white house keys to change them either. Maybe politicians of both parties are happy with the way things are.

It's a global economy. I'm by all means a dummy when it comes to such things but this Sanders feller sounds a little Smoot Hawleyish. Isolationism and protectionism. Rich folks gonna do what it takes to pad their fortunes and keep it goin. Just the way it is.

It's a 'global economy' (when wasn't it a global economy?) but an unfair one as exemplified in this short video from 1991......

Well the fact is they have high priced accounts to access loopholes that should be closed.
Everyone should pay what they owe and fat cats should pay their share like everyone else.
It is time we all shared the upkeep of the society. In America the middle class pays for the
big shots and the sports hero's that get the breaks as well and its time it ended
I don't agree with everything Bernie says but he has a point on this one.
In Canada there has been the same thing the off shore tax havens are not legal in many
cases and they are being exposed but no one has been charged let alone convicted.
Iceland took care of crooked bankers and business people for the 2008 mess they are in jail

So you get to decide what they owe right? Maybe we should start with wannabe farmers that pay agricultural land taxes on their fancy homes.Got lots of those around here.

Bernie Sanders Is Taking His Populist Campaign into the Beating Heart of the Christian Right - Liberty University

Bernie Sanders campaign announced that he will be giving a speech in September to an unexpected venue: Liberty University, the evangelical university founded by the late Reverend Jerry Falwell. In a statement, Sanders explained that the invitation came from the school itself and he views it as a way to talk to an audience whose views on many issues may differ from his:

Liberty University was kind enough to invite me to address a convocation and I decided to accept. It goes without saying that my views on many issues — women’s rights, gay rights, education and many other issues — are very different from the opinions of some in the Liberty University community. I think it is important, however, to see if we can reach consensus regarding the grotesque level of income and wealth inequality in our country, about the collapse of the middle class, about the high level of childhood poverty, about climate change and other issues. It is very easy for a candidate to speak to people who hold the same views. It’s harder but important to reach out to others who look at the world differently. I look forward to meeting with the students and faculty of Liberty University.

It is rare for a progressive to speak at Liberty's convocations, which take place three times a week. The university has long been a stomping ground for right-wing candidates; recall that Ted Cruz launched his campaign with a speech there.

But there is one historical parallel. In 1983, then-Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) addressed the students at the school, joking that some in Washington “seem to think it's easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a Kennedy to come to the campus of Liberty.”

I can tell you after working with the Uncut movement a bit there is a difference between 'evasion' which is illegal and 'avoidance' which is using all the loopholes available. These guys are avoided not evaders. The problem lies in the tax codes which allow for such avoidance.
