just because this Gruber scum is so arrogant and this business is so fukking obscene and the MSM doesn't seem to give a sh!t. my jimmies are not rustled though, just stirred.

The Daily Caller’s Patrick Howley reported Sunday that Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber had said at the University of Pennsylvania’s 24th Annual Health Economics Conference that it was a good thing that Americans never realized what was in the Affordable Care Act, because “the stupidity of the American voter” would have otherwise killed the law.

But for unexplained reasons, the University of Pennsylvania has pulled its video of the event, which took place in October of 2013. ”This video has been removed by the user,” a message now reads. “Sorry about that.” The video is still embedded on the conference page, but playing the video gives a similar error message.

One person who was angry to hear of the apparent cover-up was Bloomberg columnist Megan McArdle. “This is pretty shocking behavior by my alma mater,” she tweeted, “Why would @Penn pull down a public video that has political implications?”

a 2013 conference; hardly recent... the video was initially being pushed for political impact by the "American Commitment' group:

the quoted statement takes liberty on several fronts. Gruber was technical consultant, one of many working with the Obama administration... to label the guy the "Obamacare architect" is for effect. The focus of Gruber's comment was very specific to a point of discussion between conference panel members... the "DailyHowler" rep's statement leaves the broadest of context... of course it does! What Gruber said:
"You can't do it politically, you just literally cannot do it. It's not only transparent financing but also transparent spending. This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure [the Congressional Budget Office] did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. OK? So it's written to do that. In terms of risk-rated subsidies, if you had a law which said healthy people are going to pay made explicit that healthy people pay in and sick people get would not have passed. OK? Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical to get the thing to pass. Look, I could make it all transparent, but I'd rather have this law than not.
GRUBER: "Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage." - YouTube

of course, how anyone who champions the so-called transparency/accountability of Harper Conservatives could have concerns over this lil' ditty, is quite telling!

If Obama want to leave a positive legacy he will have to 'Executive Order' a 'Single Payer Universal Health Care' system such as Canada's and quit pandering to Insurance industry..........

Meh, many countries, including Germany and Japan, have mandatory-insurance systems that work at least as well as, if not better than, Britain and Canada's single-payer systems.

If Harper wants to leave a positive legacy, he should institute co-Pays and Private Health Insurance as an alternative option to single payer in Canada.

Go into a Hospital, and you have people going there for the stupidest little sh*t, when they should have gone to urgent care or made an appointment with a local doctors office. No wonder Canada's health care is failing so many.

$20 for a Doctors visit, $50 for Urgent Care, and $100 for Emergency.. paid by the patient. Should free up Emergency rooms of stupid sh*t.

Canada's single payer should just offer bare essentials.. if you want private rooms, ex-rays, drug a plan or dental, get Blue Cross or extra private insurance.

If you want to opt out of Government Insurance and Blue Cross or some other private insurance wants to bundle a plan.. they Canadian should be allowed..

The USA should adopt a similar plan.. US Single Payer plan at $85/mo basic, basic insurance. That would be truly "Affordable Health Care"
