What goes on the Middle East is not our war. No country invaded us like Japan did with Pearl Harbor.
Having said all that, let's hope nobody in Washington DC is planning another surprise attack or cooking up a Gulf of Tonkin in order to "justify" another war.

The Japanese invaded Pearl Harbor?
I thought it was an airstrike... as does the rest of humanity.

No they didn't. It was the code signal sent by the command aircraft of Lieutenant Commander Mitsuo Fuchida to the Japanese flagship Akagi after complete surprise had been achieved in the Pearl Harbor bombing without the Yanks putting up much of a fight.
Tora literally means "tiger" in Japanese, but in this case was an acronym for totsugeki raigeki ("lightning attack").

Queen Liliʻuokalani was overthrown and replaced by a Provisional Government composed of members of the Committee of Safety. Between 1893 and 1959 Hawaii was merely a territory controlled by the US but was not part of it.
In 1993, a joint Apology Resolution regarding the overthrow was passed by Congress and signed by President Clinton, apologizing for the overthrow of the Hawaiian Kingdom.
Just as in Scotland and Quebec, there is a sovereignty movement in Hawaii composed of those wishing it to secede from the USA and become an sovereign state once more.
