A majority of African-Americans believe race relations are worsening in the United States and that minority groups have fewer opportunities, a new survey has found.

The survey from the Emerson College Polling Society found that 61percent of African-Americans think race relations are getting worse and 69 percent perceive the judicial system as biased against minorities.

As a whole, 44 percent of poll respondents said race relations are not getting better, with 41 percent of Caucasians and 42 percent of Hispanics holding the same view.

The poll also found that more than half (53 percent) of African-Americans believe that minority groups have fewer opportunities.

but hope and change

THAT I can believe. As the gap between rich and poor widens and blacks are in the latter group, what else would it be reasonable to expect?

Based upon what? Their paying attention to too much news media, I'd bet.

Perhaps too many people at the lower end of the totem pole are waiting for things to happen instead of making things happen!

Obama needed a huge turnout by African Americans in 2012 in order to beet Romney. He ginned up turn out by increasing the sense of Black grievance. The percentage black turnout was greater than the white turnout. Obama uses divisive tactics electorally.

And WHAT is wrong with that? You'd expect stronger support from his "own people"!

I'm sure most of this stuff was already there, but seeing a Black man elected president really seemed to bring a lot of nasty stuff to the surface.

Do you think creating divisions among the American people is a good thing? Divided polities don't last.

Does opposition to all leftists constitute racism?

This is your opportunity to adduce evidence proving your assertion. We all wait to see what you have.

Do you think the whole "Birther" movement would have gained so much traction if he were white? Would people be questioning his college credentials?

Certainly not everyone who disagrees with him is racist, but race was obviously part of the issue for all too many people.

That is obvious, even among the gentle posters of CC.

What college credentials?

The media always goes after dirt.

Like the Clintons.

What did Bill say?

"Twenty years ago this guy would be carrying our bags."

But that is OK... he's a Democrat.

That's just rhetoric. Obama held himself out as an historical figure, and used it to his advantage to quell opposition. Moreover, he won't release his academic records.

The accusation of racism is used by the left as a sword to disempower, delegitimize, and marginalize those who oppose conventional leftism.

Can you clearly explain why people were demanding his college records?

Not all those who oppose Obama's presidency are racist.
Not all those who support Obama's presidency are "black".
But, I am certain no white racist supports Obama's presidency.

You are avoiding the question that I actually asked.

Do you think any of that would have gained traction had he been white?

Absolutely! The media goes after this information all the time and they do not stop. During the 2008 Presidential Election the media even tried to blame John McCain for the fire on the USS Forestall in the 60's because a rocket hit his plane while he was sitting in it. Or when Dan Rather ran a fabricated story on George Bush's military records. Or how about Harry Reid saying that Mitt Romney hasn't paid taxes with no evidence save that someone told him. What about Swift Boat and John Kerry? To this day they talk about JFK and his affairs.

All those stories had traction except maybe the USS Forestall fire.

We could go on and on and on.

But keeping bringing up race. It clearly comforts you.

And BTW... Clinton, Gore, Kerry, McCain, Biden, Bush, Romney have all released their college transcripts.

But personally I could care less whether Obama releases them or not... but since you were making this a topic... there you are.

That is a fair statement. But that won't stop OBots for trying to lump everyone that opposes Obama as a racist.

Knowledge is power. Truth is good. No subject is off limits. With the exception of Obama the academic records of all presidents in the modern era have been disclosed so that more is known about them. That's how we know about the dismal academic record of George W. Bush. We should know about flaws so that the information can be used by the public to evaluate each president.

In Obama's case we should know whether he was the beneficiary of Affirmative Action. That is a legitimate subject for discussion concerning his qualifications. We should see his grades. We should know who he is. We should know if he ever sought preference as a foreign student as has been alleged at the time he went by the name Baraka Obama. The information should be disclosed, and let the chips fall where they may. Obama has been characterized as the smartest person to every occupy the presidency. Let the truth be known.

A white racist who hates African Americans might support the Obama presidency in order to stoke the flames of racial hatred resulting from Obama's use of race to further his personal and ideological agenda.
