FreedomWorks chief Matt Kibbe said Friday that divisions on the right could cause the Republican Party to split in two.

During an apperance on CSPAN, the tea party leader responded to a piece in The Washington Times indcating that some "prominent Republicans are saying that if the GOP loses the 2016 presidential elections, the party will go the way of the Whigs — or formally split into a moderate party and a conservative party."

Yes, this would be an improving development.

Unfortunately, the 1852-54 Whig split produced a badly split America. The South finally seceded under a democratic Admin.( Buchanan's)
Lincoln did attempt to patch the union together before the Civil War. It was the 1880's before you saw the Democratic party rise to temporary provenance, and 1912 before another Republican split elected the unfortunate Wilson admin.

The Republicans would be way better off without the Tea Party.
The Tea Party is mainly unbalanced people with a hidden agenda
all their own. Many believe they are grass roots not so. They are
ultra conservatives and social conservatives.
The government will not shut down again for decades people will
not stand for it and the media will condemn the Republicans for this
one come the election.

Good. Both the Dems and the establishment Repubs are the same. A true conservative party is needed and the will do well since more Americans are conservative than not.

"Conservatives" Are Single-Largest Ideological Group

Conservatives Remain the Largest Ideological Group in U.S.

Gallup: Americans More Conservative Than Liberal on Social Issues, But Liberals Are Gaining | CNS News

I wonder in the Southern States how close some vote were between the D & R parties for Congress. Going by some numbers it could mean the Dems control both Houses and the Presidency.

The fringe loudmouths have hijacked America. Both parties should boot out the nuts and get on with it.

Don't worry so much about liberalman, he's of the mind that any form of gubmint that doesn't comply lock-step with his ideals is fascist... Ironic though ain't it; that's exactly what fascists believe in

I have the uncanny feeling that you are reacting to his Photo. You certainly are 180 degrees off topic!

The media already and always condemns the republicans what will be different.
Feeling you are taxed enough already is apparently unbalanced. Wanting smaller government is a hidden agenda now.
What mean people they must be sort of remind me of the reform party wanting to govern in Canada . Oh Wait.

The Tea Party is in fact NOT a Conservative Party. It is a Libertarian Party.. that through the efforts of extremely well funded sources has attached itself to like a parasite to the Republican Party.

It in fact has NO allegiance or respect to Social Conservatism.. which is an afront to Libertarian principles which rejects all institutional and religious constraints on human freedom of action, even those of conscience. It has no respect for Economic Conservatism.. as this has traditionally been associated with economic nationalism.. and structural regulation of markets in the common interest.

The Tea Party in completely dishonest when it portrays itself as Conservative.. when in fact it is a spawn of Free Market and Anti-clerical 18th Century British Liberalism.. itself a product of the Enlightenment philosophies which promoted a cult of radical individualism and moral relativism.

It will ultimately suck the lifeblood out of the Republican Party.. as once its true character is understood.. it can count on no more than 5% of electoral support.. recluses living in trailer parks and fed a diet of Glen Beck and Ayn Rand.. and otherwise illiterate.

A list of the major funders of the Tea Party and its murky history.. beginning the DuPont effort to De-rail FDRs New Deal.. up to the Koch Brothers, whose combined wealth is second only to Warren Buffet and Bill Gates.

http://www.nytimes.com/2010/08/29/opinion/29rich.html

But they can count on any number of flounderers, neurotics and failures, befuddled by the complexities of modern society, rejecting all aspects of common responsibility. These attach themselves to movements who reject all common sense and and responsible government by way of a completely false and ideologically defined concept of 'freedom'.

They hand themselves over dictates of those who cynically manipulate them and are driven only by greed and powerlust... and a delusion that their wealth is solely a product of their own 'genius'.. and that they owe nothing beyond satisfying their own material gratification.

It's surprising how many rich supporters of the Tea Party in fact have never produced anything of value in their lives. They have either inherited their wealth (as with the Koch brothers) or made it by market and currency manipulation, feeding off the dreprivation of others.. and feel this entitles them to freedom from taxation or social obligation.

Warren Buffet is an example of responsible wealth.. who has rejected Free Trade, called for a minimum 30% tax on the rich, a re-regulation of financial markets, re-nationalization of currency and credit and measures for equitably distributing wealth... the only hope to avoid a catastrophic economic collapse which the libertarian policies which rule the West now.. will inevitably lead us to.

a split in the republican party guarantees a Democratic majority in both houses, plus the white house.
Do you really believe more that an tinkle of Americans will Vote Tea Bagger?
Amusing.

I haven't seen the Republicans in this type of disarray since the days of the Watergate fiasco. Whether they like it or not, they will simply have to give up their extremist radical agenda and learn to compromise if they want to win the American majority.
