As in Canada where there are two left of centre parties and the right of centre party wins elections, the same would happen in the States because I have trouble seeing any difference in the established parties there; both of them are moving further and further left when the populace, according to Gallup, is moving right.

People have to forget this left/right bullsh*t and starting concentrating on what works.

What works is less gubmint and more individual liberty.

I can not believe it......................here I am agreeing 100% with what you say. If we could (we can't) get rid of all levels of Gov't. how many bureaucrats would that take care of? Across the entire country I'm guessing a million. 3% of our population directly on the ***!

Virtually all American institutions have come under leftist control. There is no real future for American conservatives while the USA continues to exist. The US Govt is the tool of the American left.

Anybody who thinks Canada has two left of centre parties and one right of centre party has no idea what left and right mean in global political terms. Generally the Greens are a bit left, the NDP and Liberals straddle the same middle, and the Conservatives are to the right. In the U.S. there's one far right party and one party of wackos. There is no party in North America that would be described as leftist in western Europe.

God dammit, rotten SOB, motherf*cker, a$$hole!!!!!

Excuse that but I am just really pissed that I have to agree with old Wall-nut here. According to the constitution Govt is supposed to provide us with infrastructure, security, essential services and control international commerce. Everything over and above that is intrusive legislation to control the populace.

As for the whole right/left thing, well, it don't friken matter. Call whoever you want whichever you want because they are all controlled b the same corporations and banksters. The whole idea of opposing parties is to give the illusion of having a choice and some say in govt when it is complete and utter bullsh*t. The rightys will f*ck us over just the same as the leftys will f*ck us over. End of story, full stop, give it a rest!

Agreed. It's time we privatize our roads.

Actually that is one move that doesn't work. Our highways in B.C. were maintained by Gov't employees, who diligently followed program that ensured roads were in good condition at all times a lot of which entails work the public doesn't notice. Keeping culverts and catch basins clear, cutting the grass on the R/W, washing the bridges every spring, picking up garbage along the R/W. About 1987, it was all turned over to the private sector and things have gone to hell ever since. They just concentrate on the high visibility stuff.

They concentrate on what they are paid to do. Mostly they are paid to produce paper that the bureaucraps at MoH process. Most of the work is block funded. That is X $$$ for snow removal for the year regardless of conditions. X $$ for ditching etc.mostly nothing for bridge repair.

Ah, good ol' predictable, reliable Walter. All you have to do is tell him something he doesn't know and he'll slap a red one on you.

Lot of truth in that, JLM. Where once are road were efficiently maintained, we now wait years for improvements and don't let me get started on snow removal after blizzards! Maintaining the verges of highways is another thorn in my side especially out here where the weeds grow so high deer can hide in them jumping out at inopportune times for both driver and deer. Privatization works in certain areas but it hasn't done a darn thing for road maintenance. BTW, JLM........do you remember the name of the Minister of Highways under the old Socred gov? - that is one guy who knew what proper highway upkeep was all about.

Wasn't that " Flying Phil" ? The Italian fellow who used to get all the Speeding tickets, that they named the big bridge after?
