SANILAC COUNTY, Mich. - An elderly woman led Port Huron Police on a chase that has ended in an ongoing standoff in the Village of Lexington.
Police confirm the chase started around 11: 30 a.m. Saturday after they attempted to pull over the woman for a traffic violation in Port Huron.
Instead of stopping the woman took off and the chase ensued. The woman stopped briefly during the chase but then kept going.
She eventually stopped her car in front of the police department in Lexington and is now held-up in her car and armed with a handgun.
Roads and shops near the standoff were shut down.
Lexington is located about 20 miles north of Port Huron.
