Romney's son Tagg apologizes to Obama for 'take a swing at him' remark | CTV News

MORRISON, Colo. -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's son Tagg has apologized to President Barack Obama for saying in a radio interview that he was tempted to "take a swing" at the president for criticizing his father during a debate.

Tagg Romney on Monday walked up on stage with other family members after the third presidential debate, where cameras showed him shaking hands and exchanging words with Obama.

After the second presidential debate, Tagg told a radio interviewer it made him angry when Obama questioned his father's honesty.

Tagg Romney said, quote, "You want to rush down to the debate stage and take a swing at him."

A Romney campaign official confirmed Tuesday that Tagg had apologized for the remark.

The official was not authorized to discuss personal matters and thus demanded anonymity.

Figured some balance in this section of the forums was needed.... shows how "Educated and Intelligent" Republicans can be when they can't refute or debate properly, they just resort to physical violence.... he probably would have gone up to the president and punched him if the Secret Service wasn't around to drop him... and he probably would have done it if it wouldn't cost his father the election.

Ok Teddy.... hop to it.

yeah on second thought maybe he wouldn't. Probably wouldn't have the balls, just all talk & no action. Like his father.

Oh pish... Saying that seeing your loved one arguing with someone stirred up primal emotions like that isn't the same thing as saying "Man I just really want to punch Obama." A total non issue and I don't think something he should have to apologize for.

Oh, and kudos on adding a little balance to the forum. My hips have been hurting from the huge right lean in here lately.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if it was all a planned move.

"Just pretend you are so emotionally attached to 'me' as your dad, that you could hardly hold
yourself back",

then

"apologize in public, which will make us look close and cozy, always sticking up
for each other, makes us look like the 'everyday' hard working family."

this family has been plugged into politics for two elections up till now, so they have seen and
heard it all, I don't believe the spontanious and 'real like' actions at all.

the old saying - you can fool some of them some of the time, but you can't fool all of them all
of the time.

He's a teenager. He got emotional and immediatly expressed his emotions without sober second thought (things teenagers tend to do). He did the sober second thought and appologized. End of story. If he had tried to take a swing he probably would be in a jail cell now.

I see. I assumed that such a remark would come from a teenager. I stand corrected. Obviosly my assertion that such behaviour stops when one no longer is a teenager was unfortunatly incorrect.
