The US Election- Lies and truths - We will hear that from now till Election Day- Then it will start again- The lies and truths.

R&R want to keep the tax cuts for the rich

Cut Medicare
Social support programs
No cuts for defence
But no tax increases
Repeal Obama care

Obama
Wants to raise taxes
Cannot make his mind up on cuts
Did not lower the boom on Malpractice insurance
Foreign Policy on Terror - he followed Bush almost to a T.

And the US cannot have Trillion dollar deficits for another 4 years.

Education and retraining are critical- this economic change the US is going thru is not just a recession it is a structural change in the economy -

Stop paying 75% of NATO's upkeep - The pivot to Asia requires funds- Let the EU pay there share for once.

Cuts to social programs will cause social upheaval - and the ramifications will be felt for generations.

Myself I cannot see how a developed country cannot have a Medical Protection plan for all citizens- that is the Socialist some would say- I do realize that it will evolve in Canada to a user pay system. Same with the US.
But people should not go bankrupt because of illness.

And your thoughts are?

Anyone who lived through 2008, and saw what the market crash did to your 401k or your home value, raise your hand if you thought to yourself, “Gee, if only my Social Security had been invested in the market, too.” Anyone?

Members of Congress, like Paul Ryan, get a very nice pension that is not subject to the ups and downs of the stock market. Ryan supports raising the retirement age for Social Security recipients, but as a member of the House for more than five years, he'll be able to get his pension at 62. If he stays in the House for a total of 20 years, he'll be able to get his pension at 50. Mitt Romney's not worrying about retirement, either: He has a $100 million IRA.
By contrast, traditional pensions are increasingly rare for the rest of us, and, according to economist Teresa Ghilarducci, "Seventy-five percent of Americans nearing retirement age in 2010 had less than $30,000 in their retirement accounts," but "To maintain living standards into old age we need roughly 20 times our annual income in financial wealth." That puts 49 percent of middle-class workers on track for poverty or near-poverty in retirement, a situation that, as detailed in the graphic, Paul Ryan would make worse.
Ryan would privatize Social Security:

The Republicans want to destroy medicare and repeal Obama care. That is the message
if that message is held onto and the seniors understand it the election is over. People in
Florida understand the Ryan Plan and it reduces their care financially and that is not going
to sit well.
Ryan has given the Republicans a jump in momentum with the Republican base but not
with the average voter who is not totally committed by rhetoric and on going I will vote
regardless crowd. I still don't see a jump in the numbers for Romney and I think the battle
could be decided this way.
Republicans make gains in swing states but in electoral states Obama has the edge and will
likely hold them. I think the Republicans destroyed their chances not with Romney but with
the way they conducted themselves in the leadership race their is just too much baggage.
Bachmann hurt them, Santorum hurt them and this will take its toll in the long run. People
don't feel confident with the Republican field, they may not like Obama but they will end up
voting for him. Truth or lies or misrepresentations will have little to do with it its about
confidence and people feel more secure with Obama in tough times.

And Obama cannot keep running these deficits- Cuts to all programs have to come as well as tax increases -

Freeze salaries for all Public Servants- and cuts are long overdue.

Which is funny, considering Romney's track record on medical care. I'd love to hear his explanation - is he wrong now, or was he wrong then? At what point was he a lying scumsucker?

A long time ago the loser in the US Presidential race was then made VP- Both sides have ideas - both sides have to lead the country out of the recession - out of the deficits-

Both sides make so many BS deals - enough to gag a maggot.

In my opinion at this point in time no single person can correct the issues this country has knowingly put itself into using the Democratic process used to govern this Republic. Greed and avarice have taken over and right now we are not witness a campaign gone amok but also an attempt to auction the Presidential job off to the highest bidder who makes the most under the table deals which would possibly further weaken this nation. Pathetic in my view. When certain corrupt elected officials are handled by the Ciongress with a Congressional procedure and walk out claiming they have been "Chastized" after running with the money it is so broken now it may just take a clean sweep like the French people did in the 1700's.

And alienate his voter base? Good luck with that.

Paul Ryan voted for those Clinton era changes to banking regulation. He also voted for the bailouts, TARP and for the auto-makers. Now, like Romney, he's changed his tune. Yet has no plan on how to prevent too-big to fail, except to throwout all financial regulations made since the crash, putting the US back in the same investment environment that lead to the crash.

And he's somehow hailed as a policy genius...

The truth is that Obama is a liar.

How many honest politicians are there? I bet they can be counted without a fancy calculator. A digital calculator should be fine, and by that I mean the digits on your body. They all live in the same glass house.

The implication of your post is that Obama is dishonest. I agree with that.

And Romney is what? Just a teller of tall tales?

Romney is an uncircumcised Philistine. :)

Am I wrong in that you point is that Obama promised massive change in Politics in Washinton and did not do much about the problems. People like Nancy Pelosi did not help either.
