Supermax prisons are torture chambers

Although supermax confinement does not produce visible scars or bruises, its impact on prisoners can be comparable to physical torture. As Senator John McCain, who experienced five years of solitary confinement as a prisoner of war, wrote, “t’s an awful thing, solitary. It crushes your spirit and weakens your resistance more effectively than any other form of mistreatment.”

How does a person who was a war veteren that was a Prisoner during war compare himself to a locked up serial killer who wore peoples faces????

Unless he was quoted, and they used his quote.... but even then how do you compare?

Call me crazy but shouldn't we want serial killers, mass murders, violent rapists to have their spirit crushed and to weaken their resolve? I mean, I can sleep just fine at night if these individuals end up with a bad case of low self esteem.
