I propose we use this thread to update people on new programs that come out regularly so we keep ourselves up to date on new technology for our PC's whether they be PCs or MACs..

A free "or pay" program I use is called SpamFighter.. It works with multi email programs at fighting spam..
Spam Filter for Outlook and Express, Windows Mail, Thunderbird and Servers - SPAMfighter
This can prevent a mass emailing from your system..
It can work if you use Windows Live ( or Outlook ) to connect to Hotmail on old accounts ( will not work with new Hotmail accounts )..
I am sure there are many more like it but this is the one I use..

2. VLC (all purpose multimedia player, plays everything)
3. WinRAR (Decrompession/Compression software, .zip, rar etc)
4. Firefox (obvious)
5. TVersity (UpNP media server, serve media to xbox 360, PS3 etc)
6. RivaTuner (Video Card tweaking tool, overclocking, fan control)
7. Rocket Dock (Create as OSX'ish dock, custom apps etc)
8. CCleaner (System cleaner: temp files, registry etc)
9. Handbrake (Transode, encode your video files to .mp4, h.264 etc)
10. Malwarebytes (Spyware/Malware protection and removal)

One transcoder I really like is Super C
Before you click....It's hard to find
When you get to the first page go to the bottom of the page and click on "Start downloading Super C"....
This brings you to another page and close to the top of the page click on "Download and use" in blue
On the third page you get all the instructions on how to use it.....a good idea would be to print the instruction (unless you're a man...then you read them when you get stuck):lol:
At the very bottom of the page is "Download Super C set up file"
It will transcode just about anything.....well worth all the trouble...

Google now has free Antivirus and Anti Spam from PC Tools.. I got it in as part of the new Google Pack Downloads available.. You can download what every you want and keep updated via this program. Google Earth, Mozilla Firefox, Talk, Picasa, Chrome, Apps, Desktop, Taskbar, Adobe Reader, Real Player, Skype is also available
