Well it is possible it is full of double top secret government documents but I considered the source.
Perhaps it is user error. Perhaps the OP is stroking the USB stick rather then other parts. This can cause heat build up of course.
Your mission should you choose to accept it, is to penetrate the highly secured archive inside the Kremlin. Retrieve Cobalt's file before he can destroy it.
New Intel is that Cobalt is already in route leaving you 4 hours 52 minutes.
To save time we have chosen your team for you Agent Captain Morgan and Agent Gopher.
As always should any member of your team be caught or killed, the Admin will disavow any knowledge of your actions.

Yes, from what I have gleaned online, it appears to be a common problem with USB 3.0 flash drives. I have two Kingston USB 3.0 drives and they both get fairly warm when transferring data. Not too hot to touch, however.
