Anybody ever had a usb memory stick get really hot, like you can't touch it hot?
Defective or normal?

Yes, from what I have gleaned online, it appears to be a common problem with USB 3.0 flash drives. I have two Kingston USB 3.0 drives and they both get fairly warm when transferring data. Not too hot to touch, however.
