Dozens of email marketing professionals gathered in Toronto on Jan 23rd 2014 to hear Ottawa privacy lawyer Shaun Brown discuss the new laws (that he helped draft) and how the CRTC will be enforcing them by leveling huge fines on convicted offenders of between $1 and $200 per email per issuance. So if you are caught emailing 20,000 people that you don't know, for items that are not related to their lives or businesses... and you did it more than once ... well ... you're ruined.
