Need Word help

I am endlessly using Word to do a myriad of things but I'm stuck on something I've never tried to do before and am looking for help. How do I moving between columns on the same page? I have just made 2 columns in a page that already had text and the current text dutifully moved over to the left side of the page but I cannot figure out how to get to the right column to type/paste in text.

and when you click in the column you want to work in, what happens?

lmao....try inserting a column break so that it knows that the column ends.
