IMPHO/WP/WADR

For three years I played a cell phone game that had the same 300 questions.

One of the questions that frequently appeared was the following:

Name a country in North America (Anglo America for purists):
The choices were ------- Alaska or Canada

Additional information: 95% of the participants were American.

95% of the time I played "Alaska" was always chosen as the answer.

So what does this tell us about America's knowledge or recognition of Canada as a sovereign nation?

Makes you wonder if they only know about a 15 mile radius of where they live and haven't a clue about their own country, let alone the rest of the world. I guess it begs the question why they are in a Canadian Content Forum, doesn't it?

Personally I found it very offensive. I stopped playing three months ago. So what if any thing do our American members have to offer us?

But when they want to voice their opinion on something political, they know they can't do it in an American Forum....then they remember Canada and post here.

IMO: An example of double standard because here they are not being monitored by the (INT) FBI, DHS, ICE, peepers for The Patriot Act etc.......

HEALTH QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise...

__________________________________________________ _____________________
HEALTH QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this
true?

A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... Don't
waste them on exercise . Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up
your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can
extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer?
Take a nap.

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and
corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an
efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain?
Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy
vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily
allowance of vegetable products.

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled wine,
that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get even
more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain. Bottoms
up!

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one.
If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular
exercise program?

A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good!

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A: You're not listening....Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil.
In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be
bad for you?

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the
middle?

A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You
should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable. It's the best
feel-good food around!!

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had
about food and diets.

And remember:
"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other -
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO, What
a Ride!"

HAVE A GREAT DAY!

use while the other unused. Only one child played on the unused track,
the rest on the operational track.

The train is coming, and you are just beside the track interchange. You
can make the train change its course to the unused track and save most
of the kids. However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the
unused track would be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go
its way?

You and an acquaintance, "Pat", are walking down the street when you
meet an older couple with a bag of money. The older couple makes the
With the blankest of blank expressions on their faces, these mysterious figures have been popping up in the most unlikely of places.

The faceless mutants have a penchant for A-list celebrity bashes and have been spotted at Elton John's White tie ball and Harrods summer sale, opened by Sex and the City star Kim Cattrall.

With a membrane of skin stretched tightly over their eyes, noses and mouths, the alien-like figures were most recently snapped 'watching' a match perched on Murray Mount at Wimbledon.

Court on camera: The pair sit in on a match, where most of the crowd are too absorbed by the game to notice them

Close inspection of the pictures rules out an alien invasion - small perforations around the eye areas of the masks allow the people beneath to see the world outside.

But nobody knows who the faceless figures, who often appear as motionless couples are, or why they are turning up at high profile events.

Theories include the possibilities that they are limelight-seeking pranksters, performance artists or that they are at the centre of a viral marketing campaign for an as-yet unknown product of forthcoming horror film.
Speculation has even arisen that the masks hide a pair of well-know faces, fed up with being harrassed by the paparazzi.

One blogger wrote on the Moue Magazine website: "They probably aren’t just random people off of the street.

In 1974, a mysterious event occurred which has been dubbed "Britain's Roswell."

UFO enthusiasts believe a UFO crashed in the Berwyn Mountains in Denbighshire and the bodies of the occupants taken to a military base in Wiltshire.

In January 1974, an earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter Scale shook the area then, soon after, mysterious glows were seen in the sky.

Now, a new witness reopens this mysterious case, and a documentary on it is to be shown on Channel 5 tonight....
New UFO witness reopens 1970s mystery of the 'Welsh Roswell'

One of Britain's greatest UFO riddles refuses to go away as a new witness emerged today - 34 years after the alleged 'close encounter'.

The Government is said to have covered up 1974's event in North Wales, where scores of residents reported a massive tremor, strange lights in the sky and secret-service-style 'men in black' scouring the area.

It has been dubbed the 'Welsh Roswell' after the famous U.S. case in which aliens were allegedly found by authorities in New Mexico.

UFO believers claimed aliens crash-landed in the Berwyn mountain range and their bodies were transported by the MoD to top-secret Wiltshire research base Porton Down.

A scene from Channel Five documentary Britain's Closest Encounters reveals a flying saucer hovered for 10 minutes above the Berwyn Mountains in Denbighshire in 1974 before disappearing

No new details of the alleged incident emerged in May when hundreds of MoD documents about UFO sightings were released.

But now, fresh claims by retired gamekeeper Geraint Edwards, of Llandderfel, Denbighshire, have reopened the debate.

He told the makers of a new Channel Five documentary - being broadcast tonight - that a flying saucer hovered for 10 minutes above the mountains on February 15 1974 before it disappeared into space at impossible speed.

He said: 'It was definitely a flying saucer. It was a pity I didn't have a camera because it was there for at least 10 minutes, just hovering.

'We were on the way down to play darts when something caught our eye in the south-east, so we stopped.

'It looked like a rugger ball, but the ends of it were more pointy. When it took off, it just went like lightning on the same line as it hovered.

'I wrote it down in my diary. It was 6.45pm on the Friday night.

'If we were coming back from the pub, people would be saying, "They've had one or two." But we were going TO the pub.'

Three weeks before, on January 23, 1974, the villages of Llandrillo and Llandderfel, near Corwen, were rocked by a tremor measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale.

Reports of coloured lights and objects in the sky immediately afterwards, and unusual military activity in the following weeks, fuelled speculation that a UFO had crash-landed.

Sceptics maintain the explanation was an earthquake and a coincidental meteor shower.

The 'men in black' are explained as being seismologists researching the quake.

They also insist that a bright, twinkling moon-sized 'orb' seen by Mr Edwards's former neighbour Pat Evans was just a lamp carried by poachers on a nearby mountainside.

But one of the poachers has now told the Five documentary they had finished for the night by that time and their lights were switched off.

Farmer Huw Lloyd, 48, who was a teenager at the time, said: 'Whatever it was, it was kept quiet. I think there are things we should know about. And things that have happened have been covered up.'

Firefighter Adrian Roberts, who was thrown from his settee by the tremor in January 1974, told the programme makers: 'What are they hiding? There was a lot of military action in the area. Areas were secluded off from the public. It was about three months before anyone was allowed to go near the site.

'What people have seen and reported simply could not be made up.'

Retired North Wales Police Assistant Chief Constable Elfed Roberts, who was a sergeant at the time of the UFO incident, was rushing to Llandrillo moments after the tremor with his superior when they saw the mysterious lights.

He said: 'As we were driving, all of a sudden we saw this green light in the sky ahead of us and it seemed to be an arcing light, but it was very sudden, totally unexpected, different to anything ever seen before.'

what are they up too millions of people in britain are given the anti flu jab each year especially the old folks, Ive always been suspicious of it, and this confirms why there is a good reason to be.!!!
Flu Mist a popular over the counter live flu vaccine has been found to contain two H5N1 DNA markers, these markers seem to have been sewn into the flu mist vaccine to ensure that H5N1 or another strain of Avian Flu goes pandemic.
This is going to cause major problems before long, it is imperative that people are warned about flu mist.

From reading Praxius' thread about Omar Khadr's trial in the US, I have asked myself, "is there an anti-Muslim attitude in the ranks of our government, and in the Canadian public as well?"

I would appreciate your input from personal observations, articles you have read, and news you heard about.

I will start off with a complaint from a Muslim group in B.C. At the heart is an article by Mark Steyn in McCleans Magazine, titled....
"The future belongs to Islam." http://canadianpress.google.com/arti...v2p307REnuvfBg
----------------------------------------------------------------
Looking up who Mark Steyn is I wasn't surprised to read that he is a strong supporter of Israel and the Jews, as well as a Neo-Conservative fan. One doesn't need to look further to agree with the two Muslim leaders.

If our government has allowed Muslims from various countries to immigrate to Canada, then there should be no bias from our leaders against them. All "Canadians" are equal when it comes to rights and obligations of any individual towards the State, as well as the State towards its citizens.

In the case of Omar Khadr it is painfully obvious that our government, liberal or conservative, is violating the right of a proper citizen to all the help and support he can get from his own government, especially since Omar was still a child at the time of his incarceration and torture by the Americans.

Unfortunately, our involvement in a war against Muslims tends to feed an anti-Muslim mindset. McCleans, I'm sorry to say, is not helping to diffuse this trend.

By Matthew Claxton
TWO YEARS ago, Canadian ex-pat columnist Mark Steyn riled people up with a new book – and an excerpt, which appeared in Maclean’s magazine.
In June, Steyn was before a human rights tribunal in Vancouver, accused by the Canadian Islamic Congress of discrimination and exposing Muslims to hatred.
Not guilty
Right off the top, I’m going to say that I don’t think Steyn is guilty of any crime, that I don’t think he should be penalized, fined, jailed – and especially not censored for his article or his book. Free speech is our single, most valuable right, and it should not be compromised. That said, Steyn is dead wrong...

Worth reading...

Free Speech is an essential part of Freedom. Canada is a Free country. Steyn sounds like a right wing blowhard, but he's entitled to Free Speech. If he's incites violence against others he crosses a line. But its only politically incorrect to be a racist bigot. The Canadian Islamic Congress should take up Steyn's challenge in the court of logic, not try to censor free speech.

Muslims should consider people like Steyn an opportunity to enlighten Canadians about Muslims.

The hilarious Jeremy Clarkson, presenter of Top Gear, mocks the British Government's obsession with political correctness and "equality."

Women's Minister Harriet Harman (nicknamed Harriet Harperson because of her politically correct views) has shamefully made it law that if a white man is competing for a job against a woman (of any colour) and a member of the ethnic minority, then the woman or the member of the ethnic minority must be given the job and not the white man.

The government calls racial discrimination against white males "positive discrimination."

But Clarkson, rightly, is angry.

Vision of the future ... Judge Peter Andre

Do we really want to see Peter Andre the High Court judge

Published: 28 Jun 2008
The Sun

IN this country we already have plenty of equality laws to ensure all job applicants are treated fairly.

You can’t work up a chimney if you are nine. You can’t work at the BBC unless you read The Guardian. You can’t be a vicar unless you are mad. You can’t be a policeman unless you have a turban. And you can’t get a job working on the motorways unless you have high-visibility hair.

I know someone with a hairdressing salon who was fined £4,000 recently for refusing to employ someone . . . who could not remove a headscarf.

But the Government, led by the fearsome Harriet "Harperson" Harman, is not finished yet — it wants a world where cows can become the Archbishop of Canterbury and I must be allowed to pose on Page Three of this newspaper.

And what’s more, they want us to walk around with a sign on our foreheads saying exactly how much we earn.

This might work in Sweden, where it is perfectly natural for perfect strangers to ask how much money you made last year. But it won’t work in Britain where we have more interesting things to talk about. The weather, for instance. Or Wayne Rooney’s “tasteful” wedding

In fact, nothing that is being suggested by the foolish Harperson will work. Because she plainly has no idea how the world works.

Life is tragic. Equality is an impossible dream. You might as well try to get a chicken to go to the pictures with an alligator.

I can’t play football which is why, no matter how many times I applied, Sir Alex Ferguson would not employ me as his next striker.

However, under Harperson’s regime, I’d be able to take him to court, saying he was discriminating against me because I am fat and all my arms and legs are on back to front.

Similarly, I could be taken to court if I refused to employ a cleaning lady who had no head.

Are we now entering a time when Gloria Hunniford can demand to be a topless model and Peter Andre a High Court judge?

The simple fact of the matter is this. Some people are born pretty, some are born clever, some are born sharp and some are born with a face like a box of battered biscuits and less brain capacity than a dishwasher.

There is nothing anyone can do about it. The pretty ones will become Kate Moss. The clever ones will become Boris Johnson. The sharp ones will become Sir Alan Sugar and the ugly idiots will end up in prison.

Whales

If this country is to have a hope of weathering the economic storm that’s brewing, firms must be allowed to take on the best person for each job that becomes available, irrespective of race, creed, colour and disability.

And it’s the same story with the police force. If it is going to work, it must not be ordered to take on people just because they are whales.

Equality was tried very publicly in Russia. Rich people were shot. Everyone worked in a tractor factory. Millions of lives were ruined and, eventually, they realised it was hopeless and decided that instead of trying to sell stupid idealism to the rest of the world, they’d be much better off selling us oil and gas.
“The only trouble is the drive-through is one of our smaller ones so she’d have a job getting her Rolls-Royce round it.”

The Bath Road Retail Park is also home to a B & Q superstore plus branches of Comet, JJB Sports and Mothercare — all now on the Queen’s land.

Last night flunkies scoffed at the idea of Her Majesty popping out for a Big Mac.

A Windsor Castle source said: “I doubt royal courtiers will be sent out for takeaways either.

“However I’m sure below stairs staff wouldn’t grumble.”

The Crown Estate administers a supersized £7billion property portfolio for the Queen. Boss Jim Yates said of the latest addition: “We completed the purchase in just three weeks.”

Kevin O’Connor, a director of the firm which sold the retail park, said: “This is a good move for us.”

The McDonald’s source had one warning for the Queen if she does decide to eat there.

The insider said: “Dogs are not allowed inside — so the corgis will have to stay at home.”

Like dazzling birds against the dull browns and greys of midtown Manhattan, the Red Arrows yesterday made a historic first appearance in the skies over New York.

The RAF's aerobatic team performed daring manoeuvres over the city, streaking past the Empire State Building in perfect formation. The nine Hawk jets, in their distinctive red, white and blue livery, also carried out a flypast of the Statue of Liberty.

The Red Arrows' debut over the Big Apple is part of a North American tour.
Thrilling: British Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows, performs its first-ever aerial display over the New York Harbour

Their team leader, Wing Commander Jas Hawker, said the appearance helped foster 'continued goodwill between the U.S. and United Kingdom', adding: 'We've always wanted to perform in New York City.'

The Windermere Air Show in Cumbria has enjoyed the Red Arrows for the last five years.

The team have put on their display over the Lake District town cut price as a 'thank you gesture' for the area having to put up with over 3,000 hours of low flying over it by the RAF each year.

Now next month's show will only have a flypast by the Arrows.

Show organiser Rob McGraw said: ' We cannot afford the £20,000 the Red Arrows team wants for a full display.

I understand 40 shows across the country have been priced out because of this increased cost, most of which is due to fuel.

'The flypast alone will cost us several thousand pounds and we have asked the local council for a donation of £5,000 towards the costs involved.'

A RAF spokesman confirmed that the number of displays by the Arrows had been scaled back.

'The programme this years is very tight due to a number of reasons,' he said.
