It’s the worst kind of break up imaginable.
A break up with yourself. Well, part of yourself.
Boston Marathon bombing victim Rebekah DiMartino said so long to her leg after undergoing more than 15 operations to try and salvage it.
But instead of letting the situation step all over her, DiMartino had some fun before finally parting with her left leg.
She posted a cheeky break up letter on Facebook, and even treated her leg to a final pedicure before the operation to sever her limb below the knee took place outside Houston on Monday.
“I feel like you are holding me back from really reaching my full potential,” she wrote on Nov. 9, adding, “I love you. I really do. But I think I need to start on the next leg of my journey.”
She hopes the procedure will take away most of the pain she was living day-to-day with.
The 27-year-old Texas mother is the 17th person to lose a leg after the bombing in April 2013, according to the Boston Globe.

It's sad that she had to even do this because of the actions of two cowardly pieces of ****. At least she was able to keep her sense of humour intact, and they say laughter is the best kind of medicine. Who knows? In her case, maybe it helped her get through all the pain and agony.

Well from what I have heard over the years, taking the leg off won't really stop the pain.

I am hoping her doctors have informed her of what she will be in for. Whether going through with this or trying to keep saving the leg through more operations, it won't be an easy decision, especially when financial expenses are involved.
