OK, seriously, you couldn't make this s**t up!!!

Project Pterosaur

The goal of Project Pterosaur is to mount an expedition to locate and bring back to the United States living specimens of pterosaurs or their fertile eggs, which will be displayed in a Pterosaur Rookery that will be the center piece of the planned Fellowship Creation Science Museum and Research Institute (FCSMRI). Furthermore, the rookery facility will establish a breeding colony of pterosaurs in order to produce specimens that could then be put on display by other regional institutions or church groups.

By doing all this, we hope to accomplish three goals:

  1. Support Creation Theory by showing the incorrectness of the philosophy of Evolutionism.
  2. Educate the population about Creation Science.
  3. Create excitement about Creation and the Bible in the public.
I (Dr. Paley) am the founder and Chief Officer of the project. I will also be leading the expedition and acting as Science Liaison to the public. Funding is being provided by Fellowship University, the Fairlight Institute, and donations from wealthy Christian businessmen who wish to remain anonymous at this time.

Well, I'll not doubt their sincerity anymore... but lol

So let me get this straight..... Christains are actually trying to "Prove" something for once?

Where do they plan to launch this expedition anyways? Jurassic Park Island?

They do realize that was a movie right?

Continued from the link:

....Evolutionists have engaged in a propaganda campaign to trick the public into falsely believing that the Earth is billions of years old and that many animals which lived side-by-side with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden actually died millions of years before humans were created (or "evolved" in their twisted view.)

Twisted view?

How do they explain the aging differences within the earliest bones of dinos compared to the earliest bones of humans?

Lack of calcium?

By finding and displaying living examples of what the Evolutionists claim is impossible, we will sow the seeds of Evolutionism doubt, thereby making the public receptive to the truth of the Bible.

I think someone slipped some LSD into their wine, cuz they're just messed in the head.... even for me.

Nobody else has ever found any of these dinos living and breathing today, if they did, they'd be some pretty damn rich & famous people.

Yet these guys claim they can do it? By the grace of God no doubt.

Seriously, if they actually still existed, how do you think they'd be kept out of sight and away from any human eyes for so long?

Maybe they now live deep in the ocean..... oh wait, that'd require evolution, silly me.

Geez, just reading through their pile of crap web site, they're more worse with their illogical propaganda with no reasonable sources or evidence then Israeli News...... I seriously don't see why anybody would want to let their kids visit that site in the first place.

Geez.... Dinosaurs are still alive and well..... somewhere on this planet.... oh right.... alligators and crocodiles, but none of the ones they're looking for.

Yeah.... and I'm a Japanese jet pilot & Monkies live on Mars.

I've never understood why the two had to be opposites to begin with.

How do they explain the aging differences within the earliest bones of dinos compared to the earliest bones of humans?

They disagree with techniques used to determine these differences. There are people that aren't Christians that have issues with carbon dating.

Oh that's most interesting. Glad to know that velociraptors are still around to enjoy the success Jurassic Park brought them, it's funny to me how a dinosaur I never even heard of as a kid is "top dog" nowadays

That is a fantastic bunch of uhh stuff tho

I was also surprised that people who believe in evolution are somehow "practicing evolutionism", what a strange way to put it- I thought it was mostly Rastafari that had the problems with "isms", as someone who belongs to an "ism" movement using the suffix in a derogatory manner is just plain strange

Oh and Prax, these kind of things can be LUCRATIVE and they plan on hitting some pretty nice locations (wouldn't mind hitting Kilimanjaro at least)

I think for the proper compensation, I could look up a bit of info so as to become a "pterosaurologist"- it CAN't be too difficult to learn all there is to know about the behaviour of an animal that no human has EVER seen beyond fossils.. hmm I'll start right now in betting they built nests and were diurnal

Wanna get involved with them?? I bet it would be funny, leading them on, telling tales of our experience with these majestic, LOOOONG since disappeared from the face of the earth creatures.. they obviously need the help

Just another evangelical boondoggle to rake in a crap load of cash from gullible religious folk. I mean, if they believe in the evangelical TV hokus pokus, slam them in the head and they are healed nonsense, they believe there are dinos on the loose in Africa and pay some charlatan to go look for them. There's a seeker born every day and a crackpot ready to fleece them.

OBJECTIVE: Creation Education | Dinosaur Expedition 2002

It's great, at one point one of the members is revealed to be an atheist or something who wants to kill the dinosaurs to disprove the "creationists", and there's a 2 paragraph fist-fight during which the religious guy beats the hell out of the guy cos he didn't have jesus on his side, it's poorly written but somehow made me laugh pretty hard- especially when it wraps up with "photographic evidence"

There are people that aren't Christians that have issues with carbon dating.
Yes, there are well known calibration issues, but carbon dating's no good for dinosaur fossils, the half-life of C14 is less than 6000 years. The practical limit for reasonable accuracy is material up to about 50,000 years old, though various more complex procedures called acceleration techniques can sometime push it back to about 100,000 years. Dinosaurs haven't been seen for 65 million years, way beyond the reach of carbon dating. But the creationists usually claim the planet's less than 10,000 years old, and these pterosaur hunters sound like that type, so carbon dating ought to be all we need. Ironically interesting that the guy's name is Paley too, that's the same name as the 18th century thinker who invented the watchmaker analogy for the argument from design.

Mokele-Mbembe

Please do not use pictures without permission.

For over 2 hundred years there have been reports of a living dinosaur in Africa. This creature, which the natives call "Mokele-Mbembe" is believed to be a sauropod type of dinosaur.
Sauropod means "Lizard-Footed" dinosaur. Sauropods are four-legged, herbivorous dinosaurs
These incidents were reported long before the word "dinosaur" was coined, and long before anyone (in this century) knew they existed. If Mokele-Mbembe is a living dinosaur, then it makes the claim of total dinosaur extinction unfounded.
The Congolese people are very familiar with the aquatic dinosaur living in the Likoula swamp region. They call this Apatosaurus-like creature "Mokele-Mbembe" which means: "one who stops the flow of rivers".
From the size of this awesome beast this name is sure fitting!
They believe this animal (which they greatly fear) is sacred.
This belief is due to the illness and death of many in the pygmy tribe after one was killed with a spear and eaten by the people.
Of course, the deaths and illness were probably more likely due to spoilage of its meat. An animal this large could have been eaten for several weeks.

"Persistent reports of strange creatures in remote, swampy jungles of western Africa has led two scientists to believe that dinosaurs still may walk the Earth. Both historical reports from Westerners and firsthand accounts from natives indicate dinosaur-like creatures may exist today in a virtually unexplored jungle in the People’s Republic of the Congo, the researchers said yesterday. Dr. Roy Mackal, a research associate at the University of Chicago, said he believes the animals may be elephant-sized dinosaurs... "In an article in Science magazine, published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the researchers say natives call the creature 'Mokele-Mbembe.'
"The researchers say they believe it actually may be a dinosaur that looks like a smaller version of the brontosaurus, a giant plant-eater that died out 70 million years ago. Natives shown pictures of many kinds of animals picked illustrations of the brontosaurus as most closely resembling the creatures they say they saw, Mackal said."

I saw a blurb on this thing(Mokele-Mbembe) a few weeks ago and I remember reading about it a few years ago. My first question has always been: Why are there no photos or any other evidence of it's existence?

Because it hangs out in an invisible bubble, just like Sasquatch and the Ogopogo, that the aliens made for it.

I would love for there to be dinosaurs and sasquatches and ufos, and even Ogopogos but with all the bloody cameras around, nobody is apparently capable of taking a picture. ;-)

 indeed.... it's quite a larf.

Did you notice this part in the link:

While there are other extant creatures which Evolutionists claim have gone extinct long before man, they are not as ideal for our purposes as pterosaurs. Some of the alternatives are:
  • Apatosaurs: Still live in the jungles of the Congo. They are too large for our planned facilities (and especially for those of the church groups who would wish to borrow them) and breeding would be difficult given their presumably longer life cycle......
1st.... "Borrow" them? I'm sure these dinos would love to be traded around like a deck of baseball cards between the churches so that they could point their fingers at them.... maybe they could put them beside the polar bears.

2nd..... "their presumably longer life cycle?" How do they even know this? Did they just assume/guess or did they take information from science and/or evolution?

haha I didn't even think about that, yes, the life-cycle assumption is fascinating, how COULD one presume such a thing?? After all, Octopi get pretty big and are seemingly fairly intelligent, but they only live a few years at best...

That they would use such a logical extrapolation is indeed puzzling...

karrie, a photograph wouldn’t’ convince anybody, there are some very good, very convincing photos of the Loch Ness monster.

What would be needed is either a live or dead animal, or at the very least part of the animal. That will be convincing proof that the animal really exists, photographs can be faked. Now with sophisticated computer software available, photographs are worth nothing.

He he.....

"Perhaps this dark continent was seen by the Lord as a suitable hiding place for these giant creations, who would have migrated to the region from the Middle East under His guidance after the Flood2. Finding the answers to riddles like this was one of the goals of our expedition, and where the previous researchers had failed or come up short, we were certain our prayers would be answered and that God would allow us to finally gaze upon his most magnificent creations."

Wait, I thought man was supposed to be God's most magnificent creation?

And man, where do they pull these assumptions from? Somehow knowing what God intended or planned?? Are they God? No.... did God tell them directly what his plans were? They didn't say, so I would say no.

I suppose if I drop a few hits of acid, I could imagine myself going on a trip to africa to talk to the dinos and make up some crazy and elaborate story too..... I could talk about pictures we took and where they're all hiding, blah blah blah...... give me the job, I could even do this from home and save them some money.

The whole thing would be funny if it were not so tragic. In USA, plenty of people believe this nonsense, that earth was created 5000 years ago in six days. The creationism movement is very strong in USA; occasionally they convince the Boards of Education (or sometimes even the whole state, like Kansas) to try to mandate the teaching of Creationism in schools. Mercifully, all their efforts so far have been short lived. But it may only be a matter of time before Book of Genesis is taught in US public schools, along with (or in place of) evolution.

Perhaps not while Obama is the president, but just wait for the election of another whack job Republican President, like George Bush.

Incidentally, can anybody tell me where is the icon which lets you post a new thread? I haven't posted a thread here so far, but I cannot see an icon on my screen to post a new thread.,

Check this crap out:

Dr. Wen Po's sketch of what he saw.

^ Where the hell were the cameras? You had enough time to draw a doodle of what you saw, but no photos?

Wow, if I draw a penis with devil horns and a snake touge that shoots out the pee hole and say this is what my penis really looks like..... will people simply believe it?

Dr. VonStoffen managed to quickly snap a shot of this Apatosaurus footprint at the mucky edge of the forest. He noted that the boot print overlapping it was that of Stubbingwicke.

Really? Sure looks like an elephant foot print..... and I thought Apatosaurus (Brontosaurus) were a hell of a lot bigger then elephants..... which would mean the foot print would have been a hell of a lot bigger then this (They would hypothetically flatten out half a human, not just their leg)..... what did they do? Bind their feet like they do in China so they'd walk around with little peg feet?

Photographic proof at last!

^ No, you're an idiot! To our right, we have an elephant leg and foot.... to the left, we have the elephant's trunk..... blurring the image and cropping to a friggin leg of an elephant isn't proof you twits! I edit and work with photos for a damn living, you sure as hell can't fool me.

Did these guys ever see what an elephant looks like in their lives? My God..... literally, you got to be joking!

"Johnny had come through for us! Here is the first ever photo of a living, breathing, charging dinosaur. Admittedly, it's not the clearest picture in the world, but it demands further investigation by even the staunchest skeptic. We bid Johnny farewell and returned to our homes triumphant."

No, Johnny didn't come through for you guys.... you're all on drugs! This is so pathetically desperate it's almost a shame to even laugh.
