No, it's not from The Onion............

If you need any more proof that we are living in a strange world where obscure foibles can become worldwide sensations, look no further than the tale of a correction to a Lexington Dispatch letter to the editor headline.

The original letter, written by Boyd W. Thomas, of Welcome, N.C., was published during the first week of February. It leads with, "God states that seven kings must come before the rise of the Antichrist. Revelations 17:10 says the seventh king will reign for a short amount of time. Is Barack Obama the seventh king?" It then goes on to link the letter writer's theological interpretation to assertions made about the Obama administration.

Apparently, the first headline the newspaper put on the letter suggested that President Obama might be the Antichrist, rather than just a precursor. That headline prompted the following correction from the paper: "Boyd Thomas' letter Saturday contained an error in the headline. He does not believe President Obama is the Antichrist, who will come after seven kings, according to Revelation. He thinks Obama could be the seventh king."

That correction caught the attention of Michael Biesecker, an Associated Press reporter who grew up in Lexington and posted a photo of the notice on Facebook.

From his post, and perhaps a few other social media shares, the correction seems to have taken off, presumably because, given the tenor of modern political debate, the substance of the correction doesn't always seem to be assumed.

Fox Radio posted the correction on its website, as did newspapers such as The Houston Chronicle and Washington Times and outlets such as Daily Mail overseas. And, of course, new media firms such as Gawker, Talking Points Memo and Huffington Post weighed in.

All of that has brought the story back to North Carolina, where we're noting all the talk about the correction.

Barack Obama is the Twelfth Imam of Shia prophecy. The one who has lived at the bottom of a well for eight hundred years.

If he was the AC somebody would have mentioned the ears by now. (and that would get him a higher rating than he has now) To follow the script the CIA runs wouldn't the 'discovery' have to happen just after he leaves office and cannot be charged with anything while in office.
Then again, a 'black guy' (any black guy) sitting on a throne in Jerusalem and Jews flocking to him so they can kneel and worship has about as much chance of happening as pink elephants has of being real.

North America could be pointed to as being a hindrance to peace and the first black leader would take the fall for that as far as the history books will be concerned. I'm pretty sure the part of the world that has been around for 4,000 years will say they should be running things rather than a nation who has been around for about 250 years. That area of the world still has some jockeying to do but we should show that we are the willing slave and 'internal matters' create more headlines than international affairs. If those same affairs are going to make things worse instead of better then going down in flames is still better than dieing with not even a whimper.

At least Harper will be able to point and say, 'See, I wasn't so bad.' just before his company credit cards are shredded and he is exiles to some resort in the wilds of the Mexican resorts. Set an example of how harsh Canadians can be in the real world.

This kind of crap is the reason I am so happy the Christian Right is a Conservative
group. They have no credibility and they are slightly mentally imbalanced to say the
least. Imagine people spewing this crap and a number of people believing it. Utter
nonsense.
My criticism of Obama is he didn't go far enough on Medicare and some of the other
legislation he wanted to bring in. Can't do it over night with people like this article
describes as the audience. If it were anything but religion these people would be
regarded as mental cases

I thought they were regarded as mental cases by anybody with a functioning brain.
