Are you created in God's image?

"The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully."
¯ Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion

Deuteronomy 32:4
He is the Rock, his work is perfect

Matthew 5:48
Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Scriptures tell us to be like God and emulate all he does as we are to follow in his footsteps.

If you are a Christian, are you capable of following your God?

Would you be able and willing to do some of the things the bible shows God doing?

Are you created in God’s image?

Mankind will be as perfect as God is someday. If we start our 'education' about being perfect before Christ's arrival the the start down that part would also start then. If not it would start at the GWT event and that is the perfection mentioned. That is a quick visit to let us see what is at the end of the path that is called the new earth. Angels started their education some 13BYA and when they are at the GWT they stay in that place as they are as perfected as God and the Holy Spirit were when the universe was created.
The ones alive for the 1,000 years are a bit closer to perfection that the ones who live outside New Jerusalem. Men will also enter that same place at some pint and they will never leave. Perfection also dictated that the 'other flesh' that Adam was given dominion over will also be part of that perfection as they will know about God in the New Earth at the same level that Adam knew God before the fall as they will not know about good and evil in the new earth but they will have to to enter the GWT place which is called the 3rd heaven in the NT.

As far as the image and likeness we will always have 5 fingers and we will always have a wife, just like y\the mirror we are an image of.

We created god in our image...terrible.
Explains quite nicely why some see the God of the OT as being so violent while the NT readers see those same events as Gosd putting some OT people into a group that will have them alive for the 1,000 year reign when they normally wouldn't qualify. Since God said they must die they become part of the bolded group in the verse and as such get life sooner rather than later. Once you admit to that being the way things will be even the wars where the 12 Tribes are against themselves has a silver lining in that by letting the population swell and then have to reduce it God stayed within the rules that He could become a King in Satan's earth. Because the resurrection is one group it makes the group larger in number if the population had never swollen and then the wars taken place. Some of the causes of the wars resulted in what can only be considered to be a massacre. When God creates those things He is also able to 'undo' them, we can't. That is the difference when judgment comes calling, God judges the angels at the fire that sends Satan to the fiery lake. Men are there to witness the effects of sin in the place they are about to become shepherds in. It is they who are in danger of the lake rather than their flock. Perfect guidance means none will ever see that fate.

Re:20:4:
And I saw thrones,
and they sat upon them,
and judgment was given unto them:
and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus,
and for the word of God,
and which had not worshipped the beast,
neither his image,
neither had received his mark upon their foreheads,
or in their hands;
and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Not bolded but still being somewhat important is that to be convicted by God as having taken the mark means the mark and worship of the image. The mark would be equal to getting a business permit these days and that allows you to buy and sell things, that is available 1260 days before all permits 'expire' as the law changes from being the one where fallen angels before the flood are the rulers of the planet. If it is to be a mirror of that time and we see advancements that means those days were a time when society if more advanced than it is today. That they practice things that are an abomination to God means there is room for 'changes'. Adam was given the compasion to be a good shepherd, angels were given the power of immortality but lacked compassion. Rule under God see mankind have both those traits before God is finished with the molding that is mentioned in the Bible. The potter is finished with this clay once we have all stepped into the new earth, that is when mankind is able to judge God on if He is the God of the living or not.

If God is perfect and unchanging, then he has not evolved and is not worthy of man.

Angels and men go through a progression before they are equal to the perfection that is God. That does not mean God or the Holy Spirit ever went down that path as they could be like their child, Christ who was born to two beings that were already perfected. Remember when I said the ones alive for the 1,000 years are ahead of the ones who come alive 1,000 years later at the GWT. They enter the new earth together but the older group lives inside New Jerusalem and they do not have children as they are not given in marriage, same as angels today. When the New earth phase ends they would enter the 3rd heaven and as being perfected and childless they would be given in marriage and have one child, they would then go on to create a heaven and earth where their child will find a wife, like Christ did with Mary of Bethany, aka the Beloved Disciple. The people living outside the city pair off and they have 100 children each and that total population after the end of the new earth 400B years and then they would enter a period of not being given in marriage and after they get through that they would also be full time residents of the 3rd heaven.

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?” - Epicurus.

It was a figure of speech like so many stories in the Bible, taken literally they create
problems used as stories and metaphors they mean different things.
Take the Good Samaritan story it wasn't that the Good Samaritan stopped to help
the injured man, it was the fact there was a good Samaritan as Samaritans were
the enemy. We have to quick all this literal belief cause by today's standards they
no longer make sense. To illiterate people they make a lot of sense.

No argument on literalism.

How do you interpret the metaphor?
