Is the Bible the WORD of God or the WORD of Satan?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9c0RFxXrYzg&feature=related

Whenever we read the obscene stories, the voluptuousdebaucheries, the cruel and tortuous executions, the unrelenting vindictivenesswith which more than half the Bible is filled, it would be more consistent thatwe call it the word of a demon than the word of God. It is a history ofwickedness that has served to corrupt and brutalize mankind; and, for my part,I sincerely detest it, as I detest everything that is cruel. [Thomas Paine, TheAge of Reason]

As to the book called the bible, it is blasphemy to call itthe Word of God. It is a book of lies and contradictions and a history of badtimes and bad men. [Thomas Paine, writing to Andrew Dean August 15, 1806]

“The God of the Old Testament is arguably the mostunpleasant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser; amisogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.”

― Richard Dawkins, The God Delusion
---------------------------------------------------

Many intelligent men have condemned the Bible and it’s Godas completely immoral. Be they from ancient days or more modern times, themorality of God has been rejected by moral men and legislators of the laws wemostly all live under. Never has biblical laws and commandments been showndesirable for most of us to live under.

Christians tend not to like to discuss the morals taught bythe Bible. The fact that Christians do not promote their laws over secular lawindicate that they are aware of the immoral nature of their genocidal sonmurdering God and the draconian laws that Christians would put in place.

Satan is said to be able to deceive the whole world with hisGod given power and dogma says that he has dominion over the earth. Mostbelievers say that the bible is the word of God even though it shows God in aless than favorable light even when compared to Satan. Even Christians admitthis and when they do they fall back on their standard excuse of God being ableand justified in doing whatever he likes to us, moral or not, because he ownsus. That is a cop out to my way of thinking.

Satan has the power to deceive the whole world.

Is the WORD of God, --- because of the fact that it showsGod to be more Satanic-like than God-like, --- really the WORD of Satan and notof God?

"And Saint Atila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying,
'Oh, Lord, bless this thy hand grenade that with it thou mayest blow
thy enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin, and
people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies,
and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats, and large --

...

"And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the
Holy Pin. Then, shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three
shalt be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting
shalt be three. Four shalt thou not count, nor either count thou two,
excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once
the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou
thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thou foe, who being naughty
in my sight, shall snuff it.'"

What does God having his son murdered explain?

What does God murdering A & E explain?

What does Noah's flood explain?

What does God punishing the children for what their parents have done explain?

They all seem to explain that God is a prick so why would anyone choose to follow a prick when we are supposedly trying to make ourselves gtood?

News flash, the Bible has the exact number of answers as it does for questions it inspires.
What does God having his son murdered explain?
Let's see, His death marked the point where Eve's seed got bruise, that is the 1/2 way point of the completion of that verse. Immortal life returns after both are completed, only the people here seem to see that as a bad thing.
What does God murdering A & E explain?
It stopped the torrment of having parents see 100,s of their own children die.
What does Noah's flood explain?
Why there are only 5 fingered people around today.
What does God punishing the children for what their parents have done explain?
Salvation can't arrive before the time it was determined to and that was set the day God gave Adam a Law to obey.
They all seem to explain that God is a prick so why would anyone choose to follow a prick when we are supposedly trying to make ourselves gtood?
You obviously don't so what is the issue. Don't currently must mean all your threads about God must mean you are despirately seeking Him. Don't sweat it, if you can't find Him the He knows how to find you, isn't that a comforting thought??

Hey DL:

As a member, I'd request that in a sensitive forum such as this one, that you refrain from doing any more emotional name-calling towards God. A lot of members will take offense and you'll end up with a thread that gets shut down rather than a civil discourse.

Thanks.

Surely you can think of other options than those two. The correct answer is "neither," it's the words of men. Dozens of them. Credulous and superstitious men, with an agenda, from a more callous and brutal age than our own.
Agenda, you mean like Moses throwing this pqart in to mess up a whole 2,000 year so far?

De:4:30:
When thou art in tribulation,
and all these things are come upon thee,
even in the latter days,
if thou turn to the LORD thy God,
and shalt be obedient unto his voice;
De:4:31:
(For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;)
he will not forsake thee,
neither destroy thee,
nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

The Rothschild Klan are responsible for 70M deaths in two World Wars just so they could have their own Israel. You sure you know a maniacal degenerate when you hear about one? Obviously not, not too surprising either.

2Th:2:11:
And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion,
that they should believe a lie:

Deuteronomy is much older than 2000 years, Moses didn't write it, and the "he will not forsake thee" claim is manifestly false, the Bible itself records many instances of god mercilessly visiting horrors on his people in punishment for not behaving correctly.

Perhaps the term 'latter days' is throwing you off. It didn't start when the verse was written, it starts when the 5th trump sounds and it lasts 1260 days.

Better take that up with Moses.

Look at the body count.

Who would you like seeking you. The one who kills many or the one who kills a few?

Give an honest answer and we can chat.

Are you suggesting that God is not portrayed as an evil prick?

If someone who is being a real prick cannot be called a prick then there is not much point in a discussion to see who the prick of the bible is.

I left the option for those of intelligence to do what you just did my friend.
