I finally figured it out.

Faith is what you do/feel when you're ahead and *could* afford to be a **** but choose not to by virtue of belief, such that you don't, whereas Hope is holding it together when you're behind.

That doesn't make sense, to me at least.

I believe faith is simply a belief in something for which no evidence available.
I believe in evidence, not necessarily hard and fast proof, but a body of evidence.

I suppose that is why I believe in scientific methodology.

Hope is what you wish for, faith is what you predict will happen based on past history. I hope I will get lucky tonight. I have faith that I will. -:)

Faith is that undefined and uncompromising will we have within ourselves
Hope is the expression that we will have the faith to hold fast to that will
in the face of adversity

Faith is what you have, hope is for what you wish for.

I have faith (know) that my friends will be there for me if I need help. I have hope (wish) that my friends will be there for me if I need help. One is based in certainty (for reasons of past experience or whatever), the other is uncertain but still rather positive.

That doesn't make sense, to me at least.

That's about as coherent as it gets I'm afraid.
