'DYING IN MY ARMS': Kitty killed after vet mistakenly gives euthanasia instead of rabies vaccine

A horrible accident.
Michelle Olson brought Sophie, her 8-year-old cat, into her Houston area vet for a routine round of vaccination shots when the unthinkable happened — Olson received a call from the vet who said they wrongly gave Sophie euthanasia drugs instead of the shots, ABC13 reported.
Olson received the call in the car as she drove her beloved cat home from the vet before desperately rushing to get back in an attempt to save the animal’s life.
“It was the doctor herself calling saying, ‘Please get Sophie back here immediately, we gave her euthanasia instead of a rabies vaccine,” Olsen said.
“I immediately took her out of her cat carrier and I held her, talked to her, because I knew that was going to be the last thing she would remember,” Olsen explained. “She pretty much was dying in my arms.”
Despite the best efforts of the animal hospital’s staff, Sophie died.
Olson appeared to be rather forgiving, explaining that all the vets can do is apologize while saying “it was an accident that should’ve never happened.”
According to ABC13, the animal hospital acknowledge the incident occurred but would not comment.
“Every time I close my eyes, I see that look on her face and I just can’t get it out of my head,” Olsen said.
