Last year was the fourth warmest on record (since 1951 when the record started) extending a scorching streak driven by a buildup of man-made greenhouse gases, the European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Service said on Monday.

Average world surface air temperatures were 14.7 C in 2018, just 0.2 C off the highest, it said in the first global assessment based on full-year data. This year will also likely be hot, its scientists said.

I'm glad it wasn't as hot as 1934. Good thing it wasnt on record.

More signs of panic from the AGW industry. The more their predictions are undermined and disproved the more hysterical the patter and fear mongering.

Essentially its not that difficult to contrive evidence to prove just about anything through selective filtering out of inconvenient facts. There is really no way of measuring the amount of heat in the atmosphere now and they know it. That doesn't matter. This has all become a matter that must be accepted on faith alone. It is a cult.

The 'elite' should turn the heat off for a winter, see how many still alive in the spring claim it was the warmest year this century.
You do know that the ones that automatically believe them also become their next victims in their quest to rid the planet of all 'the lesser races'.
Anybody with a heating bill should be cheering for global warming, yet the 'sheeple' are so stupid they see being warm as a bad thing. At least we don't have to wait for the system to fall completely.

So 1950 and many of the many years before that may have been hotter.

I'm still right in what I said though. 1950 could have been hotter than 1951. And there could be hundreds or thousands of individual years before 1950 hotter than this year.

It's almost as bad, but not quite, as saying global warming is real because 2018 was the hottest year since 2012.

50 was cold compared to 51 but 51 was chilly compared to 45.
