St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. — Neighbours of a house decorated with mutilated dolls for Halloween say they're concerned it will "traumatize" their children.
Horror film enthusiast Mathieu Cass spent hours making his front yard as terrifying as possible, placing dozens of one-eyed bloody baby dolls around his property.
The neighbours aren't impressed with his dedication to the horror genre.
Sandra Desrochers told her children to stay away from his house when trick-or-treating.
"I don't even look at it, it saddens me. He can do what he wants, but using baby dolls is unacceptable," Desrochers said.
Cass said he never intended to upset the neighbours with his spooky creations.
"I only wanted to create a real terrifying Halloween experience," he said.
For the children brave enough to reach his front door, Cass and his wife have $400 worth of candies waiting for them.
"We have a wheelbarrow full of sweets inside," Cass said smiling.
Mathieu Cass has decorated his home with bloody dolls and skulls and has shocked the neighborhood of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. October 31, 2014. (MARIE-EVE DUMONT/QMI AGENCY)
