Victims' families outraged at Pickton trial subpoenas

CBC News
Family members of all six of the victims in the first murder trial of Robert William Pickton have been subpoenaed to appear as witnesses, CBC News has learned.

The whole trial has become a bit of a circus. Huge moneymaker for courtroom players. And that's what Canadian justice has become: a self-serving arena for its key, well compensated participants. Common sense died a long time ago. Virtually every other sector of our life has been modernized except courtroom procedure and protocols. I wonder why. Lawyers and law inhabit a dark, arcane world. We can't affort their silliness.
