No one 'put' them there, pgs. The squatters came all by themselves and turned a once lovely park into a toxic garbage dump. They have been offered housing many times and most refuse to leave. That's their choice, me I'd think twice about camping out amidst a bunch of drug-addicted violent people and all the rats that have moved in to help clean up the garbage strewn around the site.

As recently as 2013, water levels on most of the Great Lakes were very low. At that time some experts proposed that climate change, along with other human actions such as channel dredging and water diversions, would cause water levels to continue to decline. Living in Edmonton, I can get used to the weather so far this month. It's 2 C right now.
On a side note, if anyone is thinking of moving to Edmonton...don't to move to Edmonton. I can't wait to get out of this dump.
