Should be a good night, looking forward to taking it in. Glad to see Ezra stepped up and righted a wrong.

Patrick Moore finds new platform in Regina after city cancels him from conference

Moore is slated to speak at the Conexus Arts Centre on May 19, and in a Wednesday tweet announcing the talk, he said the venue was booked for him by Rebel Media founder Ezra Levant.

In an email Wednesday, Levant confirmed he has booked the venue.

“Media bullies, environmental extremists and political scolds thought they could deplatform Dr. Moore. We’re re-platforming him — and it looks like he’ll have a far larger audience than before,” Levant said in the email, noting 304 tickets have already been sold.

“The incredible response by Reginans shows that Canadians won’t accept political elites telling them who they can or can’t hear from, especially on global warming and related matters. People want to come and judge for themselves.”

My girlfriend and I will be arriving in our old Dakota that night just in case there are protesters and vandalism in the parking lots, etc... Seeing as this thing is a 1992 it can’t depreciate anymore if somebody keys it etc....
With the state of anarchy as of late (barricades & vandalism at the refinery, barricades on the Regina bridge, barricades on the railways, General stupidity when somebody doesn’t get their way regardless of the laws or courts, etc...), i’m thinking it might be prudent.

Our other Truck is registered commercial, so with SGI it's a $2500 deductible. The little Dakota is a $700 deductible and anything cosmetic is just cosmetic and not really an issue.

It's small, quick, agile, easy to park compared to the 2500, and can get out of weird situations post haste when needed with an interesting power to weight ratio making it fun sized.

My 150 sits for winter. I have far too km on it but he body is cherry and there arent many STX with a Coyote under the hood. Some things are worth saving.

I love the little Ranger. 4L V6 6spd with 210HP and 4.11 tow pkg. It's a tank.

The little Dakota weighs in under 5000lbs, with a 5.2L (230hp) & a shift kit hidden in an old mid-size pick-up.

Shouldn't have to be a consideration but with the lack of law enforcement, if we have to rely on ourselves to avoid the condoned law breakers and domestic terrorists, etc....this is tool for an "exit stage right" situation.

There's just no sense of humor for that kind'a fun anymore. We'd have to declare solidarity with the Wet'blanket'klan to get away with that.

It’s high time governments stood up to aggressive extremists who insist that only their point of view on climate change should be tolerated in the public square. A great opportunity to start to end this suppression of free speech would have been for the City of Regina to rebuke activists’ attempts to get Dr. Patrick Moore’s keynote speech cancelled at the May 20-21 City of Regina Reimagine Conference 2020 .

But they did not. Citing a lack of agreement on the speech content as their excuse, the city buckled under the intense pressure of climate alarmists who demanded Moore be fired as keynote speaker.

Moore was eminently qualified to speak at the city’s sustainability conference this spring. Besides holding a PhD in Ecology from the Institute of Resource Ecology at the University of British Columbia, he was a founding member of Greenpeace and was a driving force shaping the organization while it became the world’s largest environmental activist body. And the fact that, recently, he has focused on sustainability promotion makes him an obvious choice to deliver the keynote presentation at the event.

But this is not good enough for activists who were furious that the city dared give a “climate change denier” such a prominent platform. Moore is anything but a denier, of course. Yet, the Regina Leader-Post reported that Dr. Andrew Szava-Kovats, a physician from Calgary, starting an online petition to have Moore removed as a speaker at the conference.

On the petition website, the public was encouraged to: “Send a message to the Regina City Council and Conference organizers – giving a platform to a climate change denier is not okay.”

Moore was criticized in the petition for “repeatedly stated that CO2 is beneficial to the planet.” In a posting linked to the petition website, “Andrew K,” presumably Andrew Szava-Kovats states, “Inviting debate and opposing viewpoints are important parts of a healthy democracy, but when it comes to humans causing climate change, there is actually no disagreement among the scientific community.”

That obviously is untrue. Since the 2008 Manhattan Declaration on Climate Change, endorsed by more than 800 qualified experts, there have been many open letters from scientists disagreeing with the climate scare, many of which said basically the same as the declaration which stated, “there is no convincing evidence that CO2 emissions from modern industrial activity has in the past, is now, or will in the future cause catastrophic climate change… human-caused climate change is not a global crisis.”

The most recent of these open letters was the World Climate Declaration, signed by over 800 scientists and professionals late last year. Titled, “THERE IS NO CLIMATE EMERGENCY,” these experts assert:

— CO2 is plant food, the basis of all life on Earth. CO2 is not a pollutant… More CO2 is favourable for nature, greening our planet…It is also profitable for agriculture, increasing the yields of crops worldwide.

— There is no statistical evidence that global warming is intensifying hurricanes, floods, droughts and suchlike natural disasters, or making them more frequent. However, there is ample evidence that CO2-mitigation measures are as damaging as they are costly.

— There is no cause for panic and alarm. We strongly oppose the harmful and unrealistic net-zero CO2 policy proposed for 2050. Go for adaptation instead of mitigation; adaptation works whatever the causes are.

In other words, essentially what Moore has been saying all along.

Contacted for comment about the controversy, Moore asked: “What exactly are they afraid of? If my arguments are weak or obviously incorrect, everyone would see that.”

The outrage of environmental extremists that Moore be included in the conference shows precisely why he should have been speaking at the event. Activists apparently forget, or perhaps never knew, that a hallmark of good science is an open mindedness to alternative points of view. We progress, not by meekly agreeing with fashionable paradigms, but by vigorous, open debate among parties of good will.

The City of Regina had the chance to set a good example for the country about the importance of listening to well-founded alternative points of view on environmental issues. But they blew it.
