One person is dead and five others wounded after a shooting in Toronto's north end Friday night.
Police say seven or eight shots were fired around 10 p.m. as a group of teens gathered at a housing complex in a neighbourhood south of the Yorkdale Shopping Centre.
Investigators are looking for a single suspect who was seen fleeing the area on foot and carrying a silver handgun.
There's no word yet on the motive for the shooting.
Police say they had to call in crowd control after residents filed into the street to find out why it was suddenly lined with police cruisers and ambulances.
Ontario has asked the Harper government to consider a national handgun ban. What do you think? Is it time to debate the issue, given these kinds of shootings, or would such a ban not be effective?
