Hi! MHz

That Mexico labour costs will still be much lower than U.S. if/when Mexican currency loses value, which will have Mexico remain "Unfairly" competitive.

On CBC Power&Politics the Mexican ambassdor to Canada said that if Canada does ot come on board the Mexico is prepare to go to the next level and Canada can come on board later. Canada and Mexico has has a farm work program were the Mexican worker comes to Canada for farm work and get paid far more than what they get in their country and the program is up to five years after this betrayal of Mexico Canada should cancel this program.

Canadian Foreign Minister optimistic on trade with US

Quote:

WASHINGTON - Canadian Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland said her meeting Tuesday with United States Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer was "a very good, constructive conversation" about how to revamp the North American Free Trade Agreement.
Freeland told reporters after the meeting she and her team plan to work this week in "a full-steam effort" and said both parties will start diving into specific issues Wednesday morning.
Freeland hurried to Washington a day after the Trump administration reached a preliminary deal Monday with Mexico to replace the North American Free Trade Agreement.
She doesn't have much time, because Lighthizer intends to formally notify Congress of the deal with Mexico on Friday.
Freeland said both parties "are set for an important and constructive week" but also warned that "we are prepared for all scenarios."

She said significant concessions from Mexico in the areas of labour and rules of origin on cars "really paved the way for what Canada believes will be a good week."
The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative said Mexico had agreed to ensure that 75 per cent of automotive content be produced within the trade bloc (up from a current 62.5 per cent) to receive duty-free benefits and that 40 per cent to 45 per cent be made by workers earning at least $16 an hour. Those changes are meant to encourage more auto production in the United States.
Tuesday's meeting was the first time Freeland had met with her U.S. counterparts in Washington since May.

Free trade talks could finally see Canada raise de minimis levels for duty-free online shopping

Quote:

One concession Canada seems likely to make in the current round of free trade discussions with the U.S. and Mexico is on the level of duties that Canadians must pay when shopping online — and it's one where Canadian consumers could end up be happy with the result.
Known as the de minimis threshold, it's the level at which consumers have to pay duties and taxes on imported goods, whether through bringing items back on a trip or ordering them online and having them delivered by mail or courier.
In the United States, the level is set at $800 US, meaning consumers can buy up to that much from abroad without having to pay a duty on it. In this week's free trade blueprint, Mexico agreed to raise its threshold to $100, doubling ti from $50 .
In Canada, the de minimis threshold is $20, where it has been since 1985, and it's a prime candidate to be raised in the next little while as a concession to get a new pan-continental trade deal done.
"I'm pretty sure the Canadian government is aware of this and knows it's a long-standing problem," says Inu Manak, a specialist in trade issues and visiting scholar at the Cato Institute think-tank, which promotes free market principles. "It's likely they'll fold on something like that."
The issue has been divisive in trade negotiations for years. In 2016 the U.S. raised its threshold to $800 from $200, even as NAFTA partners kept theirs right where they were.
The American position has been that Canada's lower threshold unfairly protects Canada retailers by increasing costs and red tape for anyone wishing to buy things from the U.S.
Policy-makers and retailers in Canada warn , however, that raising the limit would harm domestic retailers, which would hurt the Canadian economy and cost hundreds of thousands of jobs.
Economist Brett House, with Scotiabank, is among those who thinks the time has come for Canada to raise its threshold, and he says if it's handled properly, it can be a win for all sides.
Among his criticisms of the current system is that enforcement is lax, which only adds to the uncertainty. "In practice ... we just don't collect most of them because it's too complicated and too costly for customs and Canada Post to collect this welter of different tariffs."
A recent report from the Auditor General of Canada found that more than half of all the customs-duty revenues the government collects come from three consumer goods categories: apparel, footwear, and vehicles and auto parts. The vast majority of items theoretically covered by the tariffs raise no revenue at all.

Deadline is Friday, change in Mexican government, and time for the House to vote before midterms.

There won't be time for any real modification. Either sign, or don't sign.

Be interesting to see how PM Dopey and his 'we will protect dairy' reacts to the deal.
My guess is he won't be very happy.

If a product is subsidized why not have the country that buys the end product be the one throwing in the money. Throwing in a few $B in the early stages might make the product cheaper when unloaded at the final destination. They would back the products they want and fuk the rest.
All 3 countries paying in and the profits still go to EU Banks is still robbery at the highest level. All 3 countries should be the majority of the stockholders in the companies that do cross border business.

Trudy signs and he pisses-off Que on the dairy issue (along with many others across the country when the details are released) OR he doesn't sign and he causes Canadian auto mfgring to get punished through tariffs.

That $16.00 dollar per hour set of auto worker jobs WILL NOT end up in Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!

Those jobs are heading to Tennessee or some such place!

Mexico has simply made the best of a bad mess that they are powerless to deal with!!!!!!!!!

On the other hand- Our idiot Boy Justin has DELIBERATELY dumped us in the crapper because he hates white people and especially hates Yankees!

Yes- Our idiot Boy is such an anti Yankee bigot that he is prepared to destroy the Cdn economy over FAKE gender issues and delusional native affairs!

Our idiot Boy is rampaging around the world offending anybody he can reach!!!!

Insults India by taking a convicted Sikh terrorist with him on that botched India trip!!!!!!!!!!

He insults China with his virtue signalling of feminist values in a country that sees nothing wrong with aborting a healthy female fetus- simply because it IS female- and he does his virtue signalling in the middle of trying to arrange a lunatic trade deal with the Communists who hate the west!!!!!!!!

He gets stung by his attitude to the Kokanee Grope and goes on to attack Saudi Arabia for their lack of feminist values and Our idiot Boy bites off more than he can chew and triggers a trade war with the Saudis!

And then he went after Israel- the ONLY functioning democracy in the entire Middle East!!!!!!!!!

Here is an article illustrating how utterly simplistic and child like is LIE-beral understanding of the world. With some comments of my own in brackets):

Canada raises 'concerns' over Israel's mass deportation plan for African migrants

1/17. cbc.ca. Kathleen Harris

Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland's office says Canada has raised concerns with Israel over its mass deportation plan. Canada is opposed to Israel's plan to deport or imprison thousands of African asylum seekers and has officially registered its concerns.

A majority of the 37,000 citizens of Sudan and Eritrea living in Israel are being ordered out of the country beginning next month. The Israel government has started distributing notices advising asylum seekers they have 60 days to leave for a "safe" African country with the help of a plane ticket and a few thousand dollars.

If they don't go voluntarily, they face indefinite imprisonment.

(Oh the HORROR! Israelis have asked nicely and are willing to PAY people who lack the education and language skills needed to survive in Israel to go away! Israel happens to be a land under siege by Muslims and maybe our idiot LIE-beral govt should ask how many of the Africans being asked to leave ARE MUSLIMS with NO loyalty to the Jewish state?)

"Canada does not support policies of mass deportations of asylum seekers. The rights of asylum seekers and refugees are laid out in the Geneva Convention on the Status of Refugees, of which Israel is a signatory," said Adam Austen, spokesman for Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland.

(Yes- and LIE-berals LIE when they claim to speak for all Canada with regard to illegals- since the majority of Cdns want the illegals who CAME HERE to be deported- with LIE-berals facing Cdn anger for refusing!)

"As the country that resettles the highest number of African asylum-seekers from Israel, we are in direct contact with the Government of Israel to convey Canada's concerns about the situation."

According to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), 1,880 Eritrean refugees were resettled to Canada from Israel in in 2016 and 2017, almost all of them through private sponsorship.

(That`s nice- many Cdns have scorned the new LIE-beral immigration rules that allow in pretty much ANYBODY! Cdn LIE-berals have no business commenting on Israeli immigration policy that is designed to keep that nation safe during war time! This is something LIE-berals ought to consider as Cdn security tries to deal with Isis infiltrators in Canada- with LIE-berals tying cops hands at every turn! And our LIE-beral nitwits do not want to discuss the economic consequences for Canada if Yankees grow any more disgusted with LIE-beral national security measures that have huge holes in them- and simply shut the border to Cdns!)

The federal government also has a program to resettle Eritrean refugees now in other countries.

(Oh great! Not content with the number of illegals showing up here on their own initiative- LIE-berals are now chasing into other countries seeking MORE Muslim trouble makers!)

While the Israeli government has not publicly named the country or countries to which the migrants would be removed, Rwanda is believed to be a destination country and also possibly, Uganda.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has labelled the asylum-seekers "illegal infiltrators," suggesting they are seeking job opportunities rather than genuine refugee protection.

The wave of Eritrean and Sudanese migrants began in 2006, with people fleeing persecution and violence crossing the border illegally from the Sinai desert to Israel. After Israel built a 242-kilometre electronic fence along the border in 2014, illegal immigration through the Sinai dropped to just 11 cases in 2016 and none in 2017.

(Hey- maybe Trump is right and his Wall WILL WORK? It certainly did for Israel!)

The migrant situation has become a flashpoint in Israel. Some citizens blame migrants for rising crime rates and threatening the country's social fabric and Jewish character, while others condemn the mass deportation plan as unethical and racist.

In a UN peer-review human rights report Jan. 23, 2018, Canada said human rights protections in Israel vary based on ethnic or religious groups.

(It is natural and normal and understandable that Israeli law would focus first and foremost on Jews seeking asylum. It ought to be obvious even to Our idiot Boy Justin that Israel really has NO ROOM for Muslim immigrants since Israel is AT WAR with the Muslim world!)

Among Canada's recommendations to improve human rights in the country was to "take measures to ensure an equal and non-discriminatory institutional approach toward all communities in Israel, particularly Israeli-Arabs and African asylum seekers."

(In other words LIE-berals want Jews to surrender to their enemies! Its mainly why Our idiot Boy has restored Cdn funding to Muslim terror group Hamas!)

Other recommendations included reducing restrictions on freedom of movement to allow better access to health services for Palestinians, and protecting the ability of civil society groups to operate freely in the country.

(Oh fine! Palestinians who get injured while fighting to destroy Israel really do NOT have much of a claim on Israeli health care- they have Our idiot Boy for that aid!)

Irwin Cotler, former Liberal justice minister and internationally renowned human rights leader, is critical of Israel's deportation policy but says there is much misinformation around it. The policy has been amended to exclude women, children, families and disabled persons, which means only single Eritrean men are subject to the deportation order, he said.

(IN other words Israel IS BEING CHARITABLE! Israel is simply disposing of men of military age who may already be secretly aiding Palestinians in the fight to kill Jews! By giving women and children the choice to stay or go it allows room for GENUINE refugees to stay and allows wives and children the chance to follow their militant husbands and fathers- sounds fair to me! But then I am not a SNEAK seeking to undermine Israel with duplicity!)

Cotler believes Israel should suspend any deportations until a fair, effective and comprehensive refugee status determination process is established.

(Cdn LIE-berals will STILL be talking AND WHINING when Muslims achieve their goal and drive the Jews into the sea! At that point they can talk about the Israeli Second Holocaust!)

"Without that it becomes arbitrary, even if those carrying it out believe they are well-intentioned in that they are sending them to a safe third country, providing them with support on the way, and are actually acting in a more favourable way than other countries that are just summarily deporting those they deem to be migrants," Cotler told CBC News.

Of the cases that have been heard in Israel, fewer than one per cent been accepted as genuine refugees, compared to a rate of about 97 per cent approval of claims in Canada, he said.

(And as we get closer to the 2019 federal election- LIE-berals may come to regret not being harder on the illegals that so many Cdns want to see GONE!)

Cotler said Canada could help ease the pressure on Israel by taking in more refugees. "That would be a determination for Canada to make, but I do believe it could increase its intake. It's something it could work out in discussion with the UNHCR and Israeli authorities," he said.

(Recently a Toronto Sun reporter mocked Our idiot Boy as “the crazy cat lady of the immigrant world”- mindlessly collecting strays- we can expect Our idiot Boy to keep mindlessly adding to his collection of illegals until his mental health is questioned and he is forbidden to add to his collection! Now we see the “cat lady” syndrome is prevalent among ALL LIE-berals- we already have more illegals than we can afford to deal with! And we are economically threatened with the death of NAFTA because of our open door with No security LIE-beral immigration policy that Yankees find both offensive and threatening! It is time for LIE-berls to decie whose side they Really are on!)

In a recent article for the Times of Israel, Cotler said, by using language such as "infiltrators," Israeli political leaders have engaged in ongoing incitement against asylum seekers that was "designed to stigmatize, criminalize and expel, rather than evaluate and properly determine their status according to law."

(Israeli borders are among the most heavily guarded on the planet- nobody can get across illegally WITHOUT “INFILTRATING”! LIE-berals are playing word games with people who deal with terror on their doorsteps on a daily basis!)

The "deadline" is months from now when Congress (a new Congress, now) votes on A) suspending NAFTA and B) replacing it with another deal. The rest is just loudmouth trying to scare rubes like you into handing over the family jewellery. Going Into The NAFTA Negotiations, Canada Has Trouble

http://www.forbes.com/sites/miltonez.../#1b4599c82958

Going into the NAFTA negotiations, Canada faces all sorts of troubles. The Mexico-U.S. deal puts its representatives at a distinct disadvantage. Perhaps even worse for Ottawa, the country's economy faces fundamental economic problems. The government's admirable goals of offering citizens prosperity in a green and compassionate environment have failed to account for essential economic tradeoffs that now threaten growth potentials, making a deal with the United States more important than ever.

Yowza! The Liberal Government sure put the Canadian citizens at a huge disadvantage.
