CBC News
American comedian Bernie Mac died early Saturday morning in a Chicago hospital from complications stemming from pneumonia, according to his publicist, Danica Smith.
The Chicago-born performer, nominated for two Emmys for his TV series The Bernie Mac Show, was admitted to hospital on Aug. 1.
"The majority of his core fan base will remember that when they paid their money to see Bernie Mac ... he gave them their money's worth," fellow comedian Steve Harvey, one of Mac's co-stars on the Original Kings of Comedy tour, told CNN. MORE
What do you think was Bernie Mac's contribution to comedy?

I heard about this last night. It just shows how dangerous having pneumonia can really be. He was only 50 years old. I enjoyed watching him on his television show.

Rest in peace, Mr. Mac.
