Compressor died

I’ve done a lot of stuff with my four year old, 5 gallon, electric compressor and today the guts of the motor fell apart and what a sound it now makes. Is 4 years a good life span for a 5 gallon compressor? The tank is in perfect shape but to get the motor fixed would cost more than to buy a new compressor.

Chinese made shit is lucky to even last that long Walter.

Just go get another Crappy Tire compressor unless you are making your living with it.

My mistake, it’s an 8 gallon tank.

No, a four year lifespan is bullshyte. A ten year lifespan is too short but that's what I'm expecting, these days.

Is is from Princess Auto?

There may be recourse. Check you Provincial Consumer Protection laws.

In Sask retailers are on the hook for warranties beyond what the manufacturer offers.
It's generalized as a product should last "a reasonable length of time".

If you expect it a compressor used for domestic purposes to last 20 years but it craps out after 5 that isn't "a reasonable length of time" and you may a valid claim.

A few fittings from old tank to a new comressor and you have double the volume.
