Can't wait until the polls come out the end of next week, after the budget and Jane Philpott speaking out yet again.

The Liberals should be in a tailspin.

Bye.

Make it so.

Leger poll suggests Liberals lagging Tories

Online poll on March 19-20 post budget

Quote:

OTTAWA - A new poll conducted by Leger for The Canadian Press suggests the governing federal Liberals have lost ground to the Conservatives over the past month.
Overall, 31 per cent of respondents polled after the federal budget was released Tuesday said they would vote for Justin Trudeau's Liberals if an election were held now, a decline of about three percentage points from February.
That compared with 37 per cent who said they would back the Conservatives under leader Andrew Scheer, a one-point increase from February, while 12 per cent said they would vote NDP and eight per cent the Greens.

Quote:

Scheer also jumped ahead of Trudeau on the question of who would make a better prime minister as the Tory leader got the backing of 25 per cent of respondents compared with 24 per cent for Trudeau, who has been struggling to contain damage from the SNC-Lavalin affair.

As for the budget, which the Liberals are hoping will help turn the page on SNC-Lavalin, 12 per cent of respondents said it was good and 19 per cent that it was bad, but 39 per cent said they didn't really know about it.
Leger's internet-based survey, which cannot be assigned a margin of error because online polls are not considered random samples, was conducted March 19 and 20 using computer-assisted web-interviewing technology and heard from 1,529 Canadians who are eligible to vote and were recruited from the firm's online panel.

Lol Thinking that Trudeau is a better Prime Minister than Scheer will be.

Reality, my son, reality.

Try it, it is good for you.

There is now a better chance that Scheer will be PM than Trudeau being PM in December of 2019.

There's some reality. It is a first step.

Baby steps.

Now you need to accept that there is a very good chance Scheer will be Prime Minister by the end of 2019.

Note to readers: This is a corrected story. An earlier version gave incorrect figures for the percentage of respondents supporting the NDP and the Green party.

There is literally no chance that the conservatives will win enough seats to form a majority and there is no way that any other party will join forces with them.

Seven months is a long time in politics. Is it time to give the Dippers a crack at it? Scheer would make a good noisy watch dog, but I don't see real leadership qualities. I'd be happy to see the Liberals under Jody, but she's probably too smart to be bothered with it.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, that's a far cry from what you used to preach. You used to day that there was no way the cons could win against Trudeau, period. Now you're sayin Trudeau will lose but the cons will only get a minority. We will see what happens when the election comes around. Cons with a majority. I'm sure, though, you will have some kind of excuse.

You are correct about the Conservatives having to win a majority to govern.

But a 28% chance is not "no way".

And two other things come into play: I expect Liberal poll numbers to continue to drop, and I expect some soft Liberal voters to stay home.

Reality.

I suppose it might have been interpreted that way when parties followed set platforms, but they don't anymore! There's more of an inclination to promise what the people want rather than what is fair, honest and ethical!

No I didn't.

And we were not "wiped out".

And it is not me saying it, it is the Canadian people through the polls.
