Dated liquor laws are hurting business in BC. Art galleries want changes so they can have another source of income for shows. When an artist has a show with a video, no liquor can be sold. Looks like BC is going to enter the 21st century here in the next year or two. It's about time.

As far as booze goes, I've seen it from both ends of the spectrum, 25 years when I over indulged several times a week and almost 25 years when I've gone for months at a time without drinking any. My conclusion is booze is highly over rated, just sad to see some need it to function at pretty well every situation. But it took me 25 years to catch on!

I don't drink much myself, never have, but businesses want it. It creates jobs and I can't find good reasons to oppose it

Booze and in art galleries are now the future, good thing because nowadays most art is crap and you need a beer to look at it. Not the same problem with porn I can tell you.

You must be thinking of Rogers Arena.

Check the prices of junk food at a theatre, it's worse. A theatre would trump Roger's beer price.

True, theatres are the worst. However, there will be art galleries selling beer, they will have to sell at a reasonable price.

Time to spoil one more venue of public gathering i guess, although it matters not to me
I haven't been to a movie in nearly nine years. Movies are mostly crap no a days. They
are shootem ups, they are about mindless violence, space fantasy and questionable
comedy. Not the content, its just that other than Russell Peters most comics are not that
funny.
bottoms up

Yes, it's not like anyone is ever going to get drunk at a movie, far too expensive.

I hear you, I did go to a movie in Grand Forks a few years ago with my granddaughters (nothing I was interested in) "Shindler's List" was the last good one I went to (back in the past millenium). Nothing much good since Glenn Ford died.

Normally I'd agree, but nowadays "altered state" is probably a better term!
