What if a pragmatic figure like Hitler arose in Canada. Would you be able to distinguish between nationalism and patriotism and realize that the two aren't the same? Would you consider treason against the state or cooperation with foreign states for the sake of sticking to your principles a true act of patriotism or would you consider loyalty to the state to be paramount no matter what?
Well first off, we do have a wannabe dictator as our PM right now. The difference being he's neither a patriot nor a nationalist, except when it comes to Quebec. He's a self-indulgent little sh*t who is going to force Canada to accept his post nationalistic policies without our consent.
He is a man with no principles. How do you march in Pride and then sell $90 billion worth of military hardware to a despotic nation that murders gay people for fun? Why would you allow the sale of a Canadian company that's involved in high tech weaponry to a dictatorship that has acting more and more aggressive lately?
How can you call yourself a feminist when you force a nation to accept an ideology that regards women as lower than livestock on the food chain?
What do you call a person who blows $1.5 billion importing a bunch of un-vetted people already in safe countries but has a wait and see attitude when 70,000-80,000 of his own country's people are forced from their homes because of a wildfire?
What do you call a person who actually expresses his admiration for brutal dictatorships?
The man-child has done absolutely nothing for Canada and Canadians, well except those who are the flavour of the month.
Oh wait, we get to take part in his idiotic plan to save the world by paying even more taxes to piss away to other countries, so we do have that going for us.
He completely f*cked over the Native people, except for the Chiefs who use their people to play identity politics. He stripped around $100 million in federal funding to the three territories, the three areas of Canada that probably need it the most. He scrapped the Accountability Act which, contrary to the belief of morons, wasn't designed just to make them accountable to the govt, but to make the Chiefs and band Elders accountable to their own people. Trudeau made sure they don't have to be again. And unless you're familiar with the reserves, and by that I don't mean you've been to a couple, there are a LOT of people living on them whose financial well being is entirely dependent upon their relationship with their Chief. The Accountability Act could have helped remove that yoke from them, but Trudeau thought it better that they should remain beholden to their leaders, no matter how corrupt some of them are.
I guess one could reasonably say that Canada really doesn't have a leader. We have an impetuous brat who's going to do whatever he damn well wants, or at least try like hell to, regardless of the cost and/or effect on Canada.
Hmmm, now that I think about it, Trudeau sounds like he could be a closet Dipper.
