NEW YORK — A Muslim woman wearing traditional clothing has told police that a man lit her blouse on fire in New York City.
Police say the 35-year-old tourist told them she felt heat on her arm Saturday night in midtown Manhattan and noticed her blouse was on fire. She said she patted out the fire and noticed a man standing nearby holding a lighter. She said the man then walked away.
The New York Police Department hate crimes task force is investigating it as a possible bias crime.
There have been no arrests.
Police say a New York City woman was arrested Thursday after she assaulted two Muslim women pushing their children in strollers in Brooklyn. Prosecutors have described the attack as a hate crime.

She's British, apparently.

At least, as much as you can be both Muslim and British.

If she was wearing traditional clothing, he couldn't set her blouse on fire. Burka, yes. Blouse, no.

All various ways that Muslim men use to enclave their women or that Muslim women use as an act of defiance. Their way of saying: "F*ck you. We're Muslims and we can do what we like. You accept our rules and customs, not vice versa."

Before 9/11, you rarely saw women wearing burkas in Britain. They were a very rare and unusual sight. As soon as 9/11 occurred, there were suddenly loads of Muslim women wearing them and still are. They wear it as a form of intimidation and you can't blame any non-Muslim for suddenly snapping and attacking one of these women.

Catholic women don't wear burkas. 99.9% of them dress normally.

So? Some people aren't intimidated by Ku Klux Klan outfits, but would you argue that those outfits are worn with no intimidation in mind?

No, I didn't. Nuns are Catholics the last time I checked and no Catholics wear burkas.

Millions of Catholics don't walk around Western nations dressed up like mediaeval Daleks to intimidate the non-Catholic population.

Britain in the 21st century. No wonder most Britons want this intimidating mediaeval clothing banned:

Maybe they wear all that so they don't have to shave?

So, the fact that you're intimidated, or scared, by women in clothes, means they should be banned?

I guess that makes sense, because you're scared by gay men, too.

Some Muslim women wear clothing that cover the head, or the whole body.

Some Christian women wear clothing that cover the head, or the whole body.

Some Jewish women wear clothing that cover the head, or the whole body.

So Blackie, which one is the oppressive religion?

Hmm, let's see. Downtown Manhattan, middle of the day, and NO ONE else saw what happened. In the US, at last 20% of Muslim claims of "hate crimes" turn out to be completely false. They're either insurance jobs made to look like a hate crime, Muslims doing sh*t to other Muslims, or complete fabrications.

As for your snarky comment, I guess you're another one of those who automatically defaults to thinking about nukes when you hear "WMDs".
Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, two countries called Iran and Iraq were at war with each other. At the time, the US, and to a lesser extent Britain, were pissed off at Iran, so they decided to help Iraq. The US provided Iraq with the materials and hardware to start a chemical weapons program, while the Brits sent technicians to show them how to put it all together.
Oh, and guess what the media didn't want you to know. US and British troops uncovered around 2000 chemical warheads in Iraq in 2004-05.

How man Christian and Jewish women walk around dressed like mediaeval Daleks? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

And poke fun at me all you like, but a new poll has shown that most Britons think the burka should be banned in Britain. I'm in touch with public opinion and you're out of touch with it.

You don't see many Catholics because your country already tried to get rid of them.

We're not poking fun. We're just marvelling at how phenomenally stupid you are.

Is there a reason these women need to hide themselves? I mean, do those guys really believe seeing a woman's hair will get them into her pants?

It's sad that you had to tell him Without help, he never gets it.

Perhaps BL can explain why he thinks there is a difference between Muslims and Brits. I thought the UK was mostly Muslim now. Soon to be exclusively Muslim.

Niqab and Burka!! Banned in Syria in 2010, Turkey banned it for years, it started accepting it more last year, Tunisia banned it in 1981, Morocco discriminates against woman who wear it, and of course, France, Belgium, Russia, Spain and Italy and Germany ban this ugly garb. Raheem Raza, a practicing Canadian Muslim is begging the Canadian Government to ban the NiIqab and Burka, stating that neither garb have anything to do with the Muslim faith, zero. Less and less is it associated with male repression in modern societies, it is more and more a show of defiance and a "I'm better than you" attitude.
