'Captain America' actress charged with mom's murder

Mollie Fitzgerald, an actress who appeared in the movie Captain America: The First Avenger, has been charged with the second-degree murder of her mother.
The 38-year-old screen star was arrested on Tuesday amid accusations that she stabbed her 68-year-old mother Patricia ‘Tee’ Fitzgerald to death in her Kansas home on Dec. 20.
Fitzgerald senior was pronounced dead at the scene from an apparent stab wound, police confirmed.
“A 38-year-old white female, known to the victim, was contacted on (the) scene and transported to a local hospital with minor injuries,” police said in a statement. “This case remains under investigation by the Olathe Police Department.”
According to reports, Fitzgerald was jailed on a US$500,00 bond.

Speaking to the Kansas City Star after his sister’s murder, Patricia Fitzgerald’s brother Gary Hunziker said he was still in the dark about exactly what had happened.
“We were shocked,” he said. “It doesn’t matter the circumstances – the loss of a sister is what it’s all about.”
His niece appeared as Stark Girl in the Captain America movie, and told ComicBookMovie.com in 2011 that working on the film was “one of the best experiences of my life.”
She also has several filmmaking credits to her name, including The Lawful Truth in 2014, and 2017 short The Creeps.
