Disney World reopened in Florida for the first time in nearly four months. In the past month, COVID has hit Florida hard, and has led America in new cases for 6 of the past 10 days. I guess the powers that be consider the Tourism industry more important than human lives.

In comparison, only 0.28% of Canadians have been confirmed to acquire the COVID-19 virus.

Have you been tested yet ? Are tests readily available to the general public ? Are you comparing apples and oranges 🍊?

Comparing a country with universal healthcare to a country without universal healthcare is indeed apples and oranges.

Testing is being done at much higher levels in the two countries , like I asked have you been tested yet , the reason we only test those showing symptoms, in the U.S. testing is widely available . If Canada tested the same percentage of people there is no reason our percentages shouldn’t be similar , we did nothing different from Americans in all other areas . Sure one would expect their larger and more concentrated cities and other demographics might make them some what higher .

Universal health care is a figment of your imagination. What we have is near universal medicine.

I guess Hymie doesnt have a top up plan. He'd be on better antipsychotics if he did.

America does not have the figment. That's they are unable to defeat this sickness and why comparing them to us is pointless.

Right there is no benefit for a Canadian hospital to inaccurately portray their numbers . In the U.S. much emergency funding is directly tied to Covid , it is to their financial advantage to be free with the numbers .

I am scheduled for a test Sunday. It takes about a day, as I have to schedule one through Alberta health, and show up with picture ID. As for the discrepancy in testing between the United States (12.4% of population) and Canada (8.4% of population), it comes down to the percentage of positive tests. There is no point in keeping up with the amount of tests in America, if Canadians only come back with positive results a fraction of times Americans do (per-capita).

It would be a big waste of time and money.

PBS is one of the most respected TV networks in North America. Some of my fondest memories when I was in high school was sitting at the TV with my late Grandfather, and watching Frontline.

The US combine all results, including antibody tests, more money to the individual states this way.

America has no universal healthcare.

Poor people are not supposed to have it, because if they got it for free why would they work to get their own?

I'm sure, though, that deniers like wally will call bullshit or say its lies.

Poor people do get free medical care in the US. Just like you get here. The rest of us pay for it.

D’oh!

pjmedia???

This news source rates very poor for honesty and integrity. It's an extremely pro-Trump, extreme right wing news source. Pjmedia makes FOX News seem liberal.

The word healthcare is used to describe a system.

They don't have one - as the response to covid has so well illustrated.
