The Salvation Army in South Africa has launched a clever social media campaign against abuse using the dress.
The ad tweeted Friday morning shows a model wearing a white and gold dressed and covered in bruises with the phrase: "Why is it so hard to see black and blue. The only illusion is if you think it was her choice. One in 6 women are victims of abuse. Stop abuse against women."
A photo of the questionably-coloured dress, first posted to Tumblr by a Scottish woman, has caused a firestorm of debate around the world, even with Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber chiming in, with some thinking its blue and black and others believing its white and gold.
Ophthalmologist Neil Miller from Johns Hopkins University said the scientific explanation for the fiercely different views of the dress come down to a person's colour perception tied to the eyes and brain.

Doesn't she remind you of Reeva Steenkamp? ... by design, I'm sure.
