China bans 16,000 more websites for containing pornography content
China National News

(ANI)

Beijing, Feb 12: China has shut down another 16,000 websites on grounds that they were of a pornographic nature.

The move is the latest in a string of drives to crack down on pornographic and lewd content appearing on the Internet.tatistics from the International Communication Office of the CPC Central Committee reveal that since the crackdown was launched last December, more than 850,000 pictures and 1.3 million messages with lewd or pornographic content have been deleted.

Over 30 online novels and 15 mobile phone games have also been halted.

An official with the office said the campaign made significant breakthroughs in striking the profit chains for porn web sites as the lewd content on the Internet in the country were reduced and the tendency of spreading such information through cell phones was kept under control, The China Daily reports.

Earlier, the officials had banned 1,414 works of online literature, which were found to contain lewd or pornographic content. as of Wednesday during the latest crackdown.bout 30,000 web links to the banned works and 20 online literature websites were closed after scrutiny of about 4,000 literature websites by more than 50 experts organized by the General Administration of Press and Publication (GAPP) of China.

The banned works either included pornographic content, used provocative or privacy-violating titles to draw attention, or blatantly talked about one-night stands, wife swapping, sex abuses, and violence that disregarded common decency, the GAPP had said.

Yes, china has lots of problems, from our perspective,

but I do commend them for trying to ban something that our

western society allows to litter and stain our culture.

Before we criticize what they do, we should be 'cleaner',

a long way to go before we near that level of behavior.

China = nation of prudes and thought police? Maybe we should invade the country. A few thousand women with bared breasts should do the trick and shock them into frightened statues.

People find many different things to be offensive, fortunately we have the choice to view such things and don't have big brother deciding for us.

Exactly.

The choice is what defines our freedom. Taloola does not have any obligation to see any porn whatsoever. Whereas other may practice their debauchery without fear of persecution or prosecution.

Talloola is interested in bringing up our children, and
young people, toward a more wholesome adulthood. I know
the whole idea is 'freedom' of speech, and 'freedom' of
choice, but that has been dragged so far, and it is
worrisome how much farther it will be dragged. In about
20 or 30 years, anyone will be able to go on their computer, or turn on their television and see sex anywhere,
no holds barred,
it will be included in movies, (almost there now), and
because of these freedoms, people like me will not have
any say at all, we will be drowned out by everyone who
want every thought in their head to become public for
all to see.
Sex is great, but the spread of it everywhere, for entertainment purposes, is taking
the specialness out of it, it is becoming so common and
public, it no longer has any privacy at all.
And, the style of the porn shows are boring, no feeling
or emotion, just a lot of fake huffing and puffing,do we need our children thinking that is how 'real' people act with their sex partners, I don't think so.
Porn industry is there for the companies to make lots of
money, and they have no interest in the people who are
watching at all, only their money, not unlike most
corporations.
And child porn, well, all of those low life creeps should
be put on an island somewhere, and left to die.
I agree with what the chinese are doing to control the
porn industry, I'm glad to see a country have the courage
to do what's right for a change, instead of allowing
all the lowlife types to push themselves on to us, just
to take our money, in the name of 'freedom' of 'whatever'.
Many freedoms are being badly abused.

Talloola, do you have the same qualms with the amount of violence once can see in any show/movie at any time?

It's a proven fact that images corrupt the minds of the innocent and causes unrest

Its a conspiracy between the Chinese government and the blowup doll industry...

China has a higher male/female ratio than world average. The US is actually worse.
Quote:

The natural sex ratio at birth is estimated to be close to 1.1 males/female. Due to the generally higher life expectancy of females, sex ratio tends to even out in adult population, and result in an excess of females among the elderly (e.g., the male to female ratio falls from 1.05 for the group aged 15 to 65 to 0.70 for the group over 65 in Germany, from 1.00 to 0.72 in the USA, from 1.06 to 0.91 in mainland China and from 1.07 to 1.02 in India).

Human sex ratio - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

China isn't that far off world average.
