Business owners in the small Alberta town of Vulcan say the high cost of gasoline means many people are shopping closer to home. Grocery store owner Scott Mitchell and general store owner Trish Standing say the community - which many feared could become a ghost town - is coming back to life.
Across the country in Glace Bay, N.S., the manager of a Canadian Tire store posted a sign saying: 'Gas is Expensive. Shop in Glace Bay.' Ernie Jackson says each time the price of gas goes up, local stores get a little busier.
