Dear Amy: I like to think that I am a caring and sensitive man — one who respects women and appreciates the spirit of the #MeToo movement.
Therefore, a recent experience has me disturbed. I am looking for some objective feedback.
One recent evening, I was with a woman that I know well. We had drinks before, during and after dinner.
It became apparent to me that she was quite intoxicated and probably should head to bed to sleep it off. I helped her up the stairs to the bathroom. After a few minutes, when I heard the bathroom door open, I came back upstairs to check on her. This is when things got “tricky.”
She was naked, and she made strong sexual advances toward me.
I knew that the “right” thing to do was to help her get dressed and into bed for sleep, and then go on about my own business. But I was weak, partly due to my strong attraction to her. We engaged in sexual activity, and during the acts I believed there was a possibility that the next day she would not remember (or at least she might not remember how things got started). Yet I continued, and for this I am feeling remorseful.
Have I committed “date rape”? Am I a “predator”?
If the situation came to a courtroom, or if I were a public figure, would people judge me to be a “bad” man?
And finally, Amy, does it matter that this woman is my wife of 25 years?
— Wondering Husband
Dear Husband: I hope this didn’t really happen; I’m assuming instead that your question might be a disingenuous and rude little riddle, designed to trip up an unsuspecting reader.
However, let’s press on.
You ask for an objective opinion. Here’s mine:
Let’s establish at the outset that no, you are not a caring and sensitive man. No, you do not respect the #MeToo movement. That much is quite obvious.
Taking the scenario you describe at face value — yes, you sexually assaulted your wife. She was drunk; you were sober. She wasn’t able to consent to sex — not that you asked her.
No, you did not commit “date rape.” You did, however, commit “marital rape.” You pursued an incapacitated woman for the purpose of having sex with her. Yes, this makes you a predator.
Importantly, and unfortunately — your wife is married to a man who thinks this is a clever and legitimate question worthy of some sort of debate. I genuinely feel sorry for her. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Turn in your good husband card. You are a cad.

================================================== ================================================== ==

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NICE RIDDLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder if the guy made it up or if it is true???????????????????????

In any case it exposes the MADNESS of LIE-beral Feminazi thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The couple was married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently for some years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the REAL WORLD of honestly married people that GIVES SOME LICENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After all- as married people...... one MUST presume they have had consensual sex in the past..........and will continue to do so in the future!!!!!!!

The "riddle" implies that both hubby and wife enjoyed the drunken escapade so wife was not injured or humiliated in any apparent or honestly measurable fashion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And in the real world, the hubby who finds a naked, drunk and amorous wife on his hands usually offers up a quick prayer- "thank you God" before getting to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a Latin phrase that lawyers use to indicate that a "case" is too trivial to be on interest to a court of law- and I suggest that is the case with this "riddle"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The married couple had Both been drinking and so there looks like there should be DIMINISHED RESPONSIBILITY in both cases!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In a truly equal world- why would we hold a drunken man to a higher standard than a drunken woman????????????????

Especially when they are married and therefore SOME sexual interaction is EXPECTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Femninazis insist that women should be equal in all things and they tell us that women like sex as men do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yet here we have an "advice" columnist calling a man a "CAD" because his horny wife wanted to use him for her pleasure!!!!!!!!!!!!

LIE-beral HYPOCRISY ABOUNDS in this riddle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For instance - a marriage could traditionally be ANNULLED if it is not consummated with SEX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No sex usually equals DEAD MARRIAGE- even in LIE-beral land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So we are back to the previous statement about this issue being TOO TRIVIAL for anybody but a Feminazi LIE-beral to obsess over!!!!!!!!!!!

And it nicely illustrates the inability of Feminazis to discriminate between real and serious issues- and TRIVIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feminazis and their LIE-beral ENABLERS have had their LIES exposed by many writers such as Christina Hoff Sumers!!!!!!!!!!!!

The MeToo movement is NOT truly working to protect women!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MeToo is acting out a POLITICAL COUP as vile, dishonest and deceitful as anything ever envisioned by Lenin. Stalin, Hitler, Mao or Pol Pot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently the video no longer works as I tried both of the above links and while I can download the print portion, nothing happens with the video so they must be receiving negative feedback otherwise it would work wouldn't it? I wanted to watch it as I heard about it and wanted to make my on judgement.

If one watches woman "wing lady" vids on youtube ( Yes, I do always want to learn new stuff) about what women really want, it is not what is in this add that's for sure. It is the EXACT OPPOSITE.
So really subliminally, this is a woman hate vid, likely made by some really soy NPCSJWs and/or women who can't compete and win alpha males. Well they got seen at least, so I guess it's a successful ad campaign.

As the elite beta soy boys have always said: "competition is a sin".

Gillette ad on 'toxic masculinity' stirs debate
Associated Press
Published:

January 15, 2019 6:04 PM EST
NEW YORK — A Gillette ad for men invoking the #MeToo movement is sparking intense online backlash, with accusations that it talks down to men and groups calling for a boycott. But Gillette says it doesn’t mind sparking a discussion. Since it debuted Monday, the Internet-only ad has garnered nearly 19 million views on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter — a level of buzz that any brand would covet.
The two-minute ad from Procter & Gamble’s razor brand shows men and boys engaging in bullying and sexual harassment and encourages men to “say the right thing” and “act the right way.” Taking on bullying, sexual harassment and toxic masculinity is a big task for a razor brand. Many critics took to social media saying it was insulting to men and laden with stereotypes.
The uproar comes as Gillette battles upstarts like Harrys Razors, Dollar Shave Club, and others for millennial dollars. Gillette controlled about 70 per cent of the U.S. market a decade ago. Last year, its market share dropped to below 50 per cent, according to Euromonitor
Allen Adamson, co-founder of branding firm Metaforce, called the ad a “hail Mary” pass from the 117-year-old company. But he added that online buzz, whether positive or negative, rarely makes a long-term difference for a marketer since memory fades quickly.
“Getting noticed and getting buzz is no easy task, and they’ve managed to break through,” Adamson said. “Most advertisers advertise, and no one notices because there is so much noise in the marketplace, so just getting noticed Is a big win, especially for low-interest category like a razor.”
On the flip side, it probably won’t sell many razors either, he said.
Gillette’s ad echoes other attempts by major advertisers to take on social issues. Pepsi pulled an ad in 2017 showing Kendall Jenner giving a cop a Pepsi during a protest and apologized after an outcry that it trivialized “Black Lives Matter” and other protest movements. Nike polarized the nation with an ad featuring ex-NFL player Colin Kaepernick who started a wave of protests among NFL players of police brutality, racial inequality and other social issues.
Sales weren’t affected in either of those cases. When controversy does affect sales, it is usually over something more substantive than an ad. Lululemon saw sales tumble in 2013 after a string of PR disasters including manufacturing problems that caused their pricey yoga pants to become see through and fat-shaming comments from their founder. But even that was short lived.
Ronn Torossian, CEO of 5WPR, said that much like Nike’s Kaepernick ad, Gillette likely knew the ad would garner online debate.
“Nike knew what they were getting themselves into,” Torossian said. The ad with Kapernick was “making a lot of noise, and it can’t be a surprise to (Gillette) that this is making a lot of noise.”
P&G, one of the world’s largest advertisers, is known for its anthemic spots that appeal to emotions during the Olympics and other events, often aimed at women, such as the tear-jerking “Thank You Mom” Olympics branding campaign and Always “Like a Girl” 2014 Super Bowl ad.
Pankaj Bhalla, North America brand director on Gillette says the controversy was not the intended goal of the ad, which is part of a larger campaign that takes a look at redefining Gillette’s longtime tagline “The Best a Man Can Get,” in different ways. Another online ad features one-handed NFL rookie Shaquem Griffin.
While he doesn’t want to lose sales or a boycott over the ad, “we would not discourage conversation or discussion because of that,” he said.
“Our ultimate aim is to groom the next generation of men, and if any of this helps even in a little way we’ll consider that a success,” he said.
Larry Chiagouris, marketing professor at Pace University, is skeptical.
“Treating people with respect, who can argue with that, but they’re kind of late to the party here, that’s the biggest problem,” he said. “It’s gratuitous and self-serving.”

Well, now that I've seen the ad, I don't really have a problem with it. For me, it basically says, if a man sees another man acting like an ass, tell him or do something about it. I can live with that.

Unfortunately, most of the messaging that seems to be toted about is that "ALL" men are A/H's, something which I totally disagree with. MOST men are good; it's the ones that aren't and whose actions are despicable that need to be addressed.

But you see when it comes to the "left" generalizations are acceptable. If you are right of center, then generalizations are NOT acceptable. Again, it's the hypocrisy of the "left" that is so annoying because they simply cannot see it for what it is.

With one or two exceptions, the men in my life have always treated me with respect. So out of the 100's of men I came into contact with (boyfriends when I was younger & co-workers), 2 were A/H's. So does that make "most" men A/H's because 2 of them were? Not by any stretch of my imagination. To me that's what is so wrong about this whole "masculinity" thing. Let "boys be boys" but also teach them that they need to respect EVERYONE, no matter who they are. Boys ARE different from girls and to "shame" them because they're boys and to state that being "male" or "masculine" as a "mental disorder" is disgusting.

I had a look at the ad and it seems pretty mild compared to some of the other MeToo style propaganda out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It seems that some people have recognized that Gillette is more sensitive to public mood than MeToo man haters, the rabid feminazis of National Action Committee on the STATUS of Women or the Feminist poseurs of LIE-beral party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And of course the Cdn socialists of NDP- that hopeless dimwit farm team of wanna be LIE-berals who lack the low guile and cunning to be proper LIE-berals- are completely enthralled with MeToo bigotry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Men ARE UNDER ATTACK from all directions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

So why not kick at Gillette for a tasteless commercial that will not affect its sales since it is insulting its own customer base!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rather- we should be condemning NDpers for their vile views!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is an article revealing that when it comes to gender issues- NDPers act more like secretive judges in a STAR CHAMBER than public servants on a quest for honest justice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is another article illustrating the twisted values of the NDP and its new leader-who is worse than the old one! With some comments of my own in brackets):

Jagmeet Singh, the accidental feminist

From Postmedia News. Published: February 4, 2018. Updated: February 4, 2018 4:22 PM EST

Filed Under: Toronto SUN/ Opinion/ Editorials

Someone has to tell the NDP’s Jagmeet Singh that he looked more like a grandstander than a leader when he bounced one of his MPs out of his party’s collective last week for some unknown transgression.

It appeared he wanted to put himself into the #MeToo movement, even as he admitted there were no sexual impropriety allegations being levelled against Regina MP Erin Weir who, hours later, still didn’t know what he was being accused of doing.

Was Singh simply missing the limelight?

Was he jealous of the prime minister being out there pitching the line that he is the best of feminists, while he has to seek out cameras?

(Poor Singh- he is an also ran in the political race- a minor player capable of upsetting LIE-berals but not of defeating them! Singh and Our idiot Boy Justin share a lot of values- including an apparent fondness for Sikh nationalists and accused terrorists! NDP voter support base is being eroded relentlessly- the union support they counted on evaporated after the Bob Rae debacle- with most unionists now supporting LIE-berals! And poor Jagmeet has even less credibility in the business world than former leader Turkey Tom Mulcaire! Tom actually ran an almost sensible campaign- by NDP standards- in 2015- and got run over by the rich gravy train of our idiot Boy!)

It was bad enough — appallingly so — when Singh invited the media to witness his recent bended-knee proposal to his fiancé, usually a private moment between two people in love, not a command performance for the cameras.

He’s lucky, in fact, that she said “yes.” That said, he did receive deservedly bad reviews.

This latest kerfuffle came to a head last week when Weir emailed his fellow NDP colleagues to tell them he was considering putting his name forward for caucus chair.

That had NDP MP Christine Moore hitting the “reply all” button on her gizmo, and basically telling everyone that Weir was the last person in the world she would like to see as leader of their caucus.

“There are too many women (mostly employee) complaint to me that you were harassing to them and, as a woman, I would not feel comfortable to meet with you alone,” wrote the Quebec MP.

“Given what’s going on right now in the political world, I think you should not run to avoid us any trouble.”

Specifics? There are none. But, with Moore’s reply memo now out, you now know what Singh knew when he cut Weir loose.

And that’s zilch.

But, when you have nothing, and you are in dire need to be part of the #MeToo movement, then why not call a press conference and use all your non-information in order to publicly launch a special inquiry into the unspecified behaviour of one of your male MPs?

Self-serving? You bet.

And a disgraceful display of grandstanding.

(This is the sort of thing that happens when politicians have nothing useful to do! Singh is already in trouble for his refusal to condemn Air India bombers. His environmental stance is offensive to the civil service union Hogs who want govt- any govt to keep feeding them gravy so they can maintain or even expand their already major carbon foot print. NDP tax the rich policy will not fly with unions any more as the only “rich” people available these days are Sunshine List Hogs- and they are demanding more gravy and more carbon - NOT LESS! NDP tax policy on business is viewed with deep suspicion by small biz owners across the country- with big biz somewhat less worried as they assume they can cut back room deals.)

(Any serious observer of the federal scene knows that there are massive bills and hard choices coming thanks to our “crazy cat lady” Justin who is busy collecting illegals the way your dotty old neighbour collects stray cats- and with the same sort of “infuriate the neighbours” kind of pressure coming down the pipe!)

(The first stage is that 30 percent increase in homeless shelter use- with LIE-berals refusing to admit how much illegals are stretching the system!)

(The next stage will be the welfare and other social costs that are being downloaded to the cities- they will be increasing property taxes to pay the new costs- and infuriating voters as well! Then there will be school costs for the kids- with attendant special education needs for kids who do not speak English and somehow need to catch up. And there will be further costs for health care as spiteful LIE-berals have just announced they will be dropping restrictions on immigrant families with seriously ill dependents- LIE-berals are apparently so angry with their current status in the pools that they have apparently chosen to spitefully burden us with all manner of immigrants in need of medical care- and so what if LIE-berals are unable to provide genuine Cdn citizens with timely medical care!)

(Then the future costs- in long term as Ontari-owe LIE-berals are already talking about doing away with standardized testing in our school system with two goals in mind- first to reduce costs as they need that money for Hog gravy and second to HIDE how poorly a lot of ethnic kids are doing! This end the testing policy will backfire big time! Firstly- the standardized testing was brought in to the delight of a lot of parents who were MIGHTY disturbed at how poorly their kids were doing in school- and those parents have NOT gone away- LIE-berals can expect a hit from angry parents demanding to know why Johnny cannot read! Secondly it will NOT help Ontari-owe public or LIE-berals to produce a generation of semi literate STONERS! Global competition for jobs is growing fiercer than ever and LIE-berals think that slacking off on education standards will benefit us? Are LIE-berals being PAID by Red China to make sure our kids grow up stupid?)

(And parents are well aware of how teachers are the favoured pals of LIE-berals! Secondly- an end to standardized testing will inflame ethnic voters who do not yet understand how poorly their kids are really educated! This lack of honest education will prompt employers to view Cdn kids the same way their Yankee counterparts do- with extreme suspicion! In one Yankee inner city- with several thousand black kids graduating- ONLY NINE of those thousands could actually get a passing grade on the Yankee standardized testing! Those ignorant kids will go out into the world and simply assume it is bigotry that prevents them getting jobs- rather than their IGNORANCE and poor math and spelling skills! LIE-berals are setting up Ontari-owe for the same racial rage and frustration- and its totally un-necessary! Unless you are a LIE-beral seeking to BUY votes and cling to power at ANY PRICE! With Jagmeet Singh and his moronic NDP minions running along behind calling: “me too! I can do that just like them”!)

Backlash to Gillette 'toxic masculinity' ad spreads on social media

Efforts by U.S.-based Gillette to sell razors by weighing in on societal views of masculinity worked many observers online into a lather.
Entitled “We Believe,” Gillette’s one-minute, 49-second ad uses the venerable brand’s “The Best a Man Can Get” tagline to challenge the concept of “toxic masculinity.” It was both praised as much-needed social commentary, and panned as offensive to men.
By Wednesday, the ad garnered over 13.3-million views on Youtube, with nearly 700,000 dislikes dwarfing the 324,000 people who gave it a thumbs-up.
Some critics have taken to social media with the #BoycottGillette hashtag, urging consumers to spend their male grooming dollars elsewhere.
Twitter user @ConnorTaylor17 was among those expressing their displeasure.
“don’t play with identity politics and propaganda serving the identitarian left is a dire mistake #BoycottGillette” he tweeted.
One of many women expressing their distaste with the ad, @KimCatalano4 decried the ad as being in poor taste.
“when did it happen that being a Male in AMERICA is WRONG…ESPECIALLY WHEN GRILLING. I grill and I’m a woman so I guess I’m a disgusting person as well! #BoycottGillette.” she posted on Twitter Wednesday afternoon.
Other men’s’ grooming companies were quick to capitalize on the backlash against the Proctor & Gamble owned, $16-billion razor brand.
A tweet, posted by Dollar Shave Club the same day Gillette released their controversial ad simply stated “Welcome to the Club.”
Unilever, which acquired Dollar Shave Club in 2016, launched a similar ‘defining masculinity‘ campaign in mid-2017 under the #isitokforguys hashtag as part of their Axe Body Spray product, meant to “break the cycle of toxic masculinity.”
In October 2018, competitor Schick hired NBA basketball star Kevin Love to be part of their “The Man I Am” campaign — an education initiative that defines masculinity as a “spectrum” rather than binary.
Sarah Kaplan, director of the University of Toronto’s Institute for Gender and the Economy, told The Canadian Press she suspects that Gillette’s ad targeted millennial men, who have yet to pick a razor brand they will likely stick with for life, and women, who frequently purchase those razors for the men in their lives.

Others on social media are accusing Gillette of hijacking a legitimate social issue just to sell razors, claiming the company was counting on the controversy to increase brand awareness.
Twitter user @cognazor appreciated the message, but was concerned about how the ad’s overall impact.
“I agree with the Gillette ad message of promoting positive masculinity. But I am weary that large corporations are co-opting progressives by diverting attention to cultural issues instead of economic ones,” he posted on Wednesday.

Bigoted social justice warriors never shun any arena where they think their vile message can be successfully displayed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NDP doorknob Jagmeet Singh is doing his best to emulate his intellectual superior - the idiot Boy Justin Trudeau in all things!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such aping of LIE-beral behaviour is expected of the NDp- the LIE-beral farm team that lacks the low guile and cunning to be proper LIE-berals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But HOW IS IT that our news media have NOT ASKED JAG to comment on the Kinder Morgan pipeline???????????????????????

Is this an open media admission that Jag and his NDPers ARE IRRELEVANT in the Cdn political world?????????????????

And what does Jagmeet- who appears to be political dead meat ALREADY - have to say about the Gillette commercial????????????

Inquiring minds want to know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!

We already have these NDP idiot gems of wisdom about poverty:::::::

Here is an article illustrating that NDP doorknobs did not learn from the Bob (BOOB!) Rae as premier disaster in Ontari-owe! With some comments of my own in brackets):

Eliminate poverty? Yes we can, say NDP candidates

By Tom Parkin, Postmedia Network. First posted: Sunday, July 09, 2017 05:30 PM EDT | Updated: Sunday, July 09, 2017 05:34 PM EDT

Ottawa politicians and the media give it less attention than Justin Trudeau’s sock choices. But it’s important. And it’s a very personal issue to millions of Canadians. That issue is being poor.

In 2015, 11% of Canadians called themselves poor — a massive increase from 2002 when 5% of those surveyed said they were poor, according to EKOS Research.

Today there are about four million self-described poor Canadians, the research suggests. We shouldn’t believe politicians who say nothing can be done to eliminate poverty.

That’s basically the message from Finance Minister Bill Morneau, who told workers to get used to “job churn”.

The NDP leadership race has rekindled a thoughtful, clear-eyed policy discussion about poverty — though it’s received far less media attention than the gong-show antics of the Conservative race.

Guy Caron released his basic income plan to eliminate poverty. It would ensure no Canadian falls below the low-income cut-off, of between $18,000 and $24,000 annually, depending on the regional cost of living.

(Apparently NDPers do not recall the massive spike in welfare costs inOntari-owe under Rae? Ndp do-gooders do not take into account the drug addicts, crazy people and bone lazy types who are essentially unemployable! One fine example is the guy who was living under a bridge near Young St and Lakeshore Blvd because he thought it was immoral for a landlord th charge rent! And I guess the guy thinks holding down a regular job is an insult as well?)

Caron’s plan would replace the Guaranteed Income Supplement, which is essentially a basic income plan that keeps seniors out of poverty.

Caron would redeploy the Liberals’ $22 billion Canada Child Benefit (CCB) to basic income.

(So far the NDP plan is simply moving money from one pocket to another!)

CCB is only paid to parents with children and is weakly targeted on poverty — a family with a combined income of $150,000 annually still receives tax money under the Liberal plan.

(And a lot of families with $150 grand in income are Sunshine List Hogs and are ENTITLED! Just ask them!)

Caron estimates the total additional cost of basic income at $30 billion.

That’s the true cost of eliminating poverty, he says.

(Only $30 billion extra in taxes? Have NDPers not considered the way such a tax hit would be a brake on the economy? Apparently NOT! And Rae has ALREADY proven NDP cannot borrow such a pile of cash!)

Jagmeet Singh’s strategy even more aggressively redeploys existing tax deductions and benefits toward fighting poverty but targets it to poor seniors, low-wage workers and people with disabilities.

That aggressive redeployment means it requires less new money. But targeting could leave gaps.

(Yeah- NDP ALWAYS has gaps! NDP is IGNORING the fifty five billion dollars in pension promises made to OSSTF- the Ontari-owe high school teachers- money that is needed- so says the outgoing chairman of the pension fund management committee- to prevent the fund from going bankrupt! Civil service Hog greed is so huge that LIE-berals cannot shovel cash into Hog pension plans fast enough to keep them from going bankrupt! Older Hogs will NOT tolerate NDP monkeying with their ENTITLEMENTS! So redirecting money is a NON starter!)

(Cdns will accept- and be willing to pay for a MODEST improvement in the benefits of people with disabilities- those who were born that way and have no options; but the arguments will begin as soon as NDP starts redefining disabled! Are drug addicts disabled? Or simply stupid parasites who have made bad life choices they ought to pay for to some degree? And many middle class Cdns are already disgusted with the “fentanyl crisis” and do not want to see scarce medical resources and limited tax money wasted on people who are basically committing suicide! The Cdn attitude often is that we all know the stuff is lethal so if you are playing with it, the results are on your head and scarce resources should be reserved for people who got sick by accident! And where does fiscal need for drug addicts fit on the scale compared to Hog entitlements as there are 18 other unions each with billions of dollars worth of LIE-beral promises in their pockets right behind OSSTF!)

Singh’s seniors’ guarantee would redeploy the $4.5 billion now spent on the Age Credit and Pension Income Credit, which both pay out to even the wealthiest seniors.

He’d reduce Old Age Security eligibility from $120,000 to below $100,000. With the freed-up money, Singh would boost support for low-income seniors.

(And he would make life harder for Hogs whose pension plans are dying anyway!)

( Oh-there is another slippery fiscal slope for NDP! At last count- 97 percent of Hog pension plans are facing bankruptcy- with a similar number of private union pension plans staring at their own bankrupt status. Many elderly Cdns are ALREADY looking at falling into low income status- with many others simply scraping along thanks to CRAP returns on investment due to lousy interest rates and depressed corporate profits in this sluggish and very over indebted economy.)

(We also labour under the imminent threat of economic damage from NAFTA being killed off thanks to Our idiot Boy Justin IGNORING Yankee national security concerns related to those hordes of illegals crossing our border at the invitation of idiot Boy! Yankees do not wish to import Muslim bombers along with their Cdn dairy and soft wood lumber!)

(The roughly 40,000 illegals who will arrive this year- and who knows how many next year- plus the 90 percent of Syrian refugees chosen by LIE-berals who have not found a job even after a year in Canada will represent a LARGE fiscal challenge and security risk for decades to come! NDP has NO more plan for this than LIE-berals do and its going to mess up their pie in the sky fiscal plans!)

Singh’s working Canadians guarantee follows the same theme. The $2.3 billion Canada Employment Credit (CEC), a deduction benefitting even the highest income workers, would be rolled into a renamed Working Income Tax Benefit (WITB).

WITB is a $1.2 billion program paying a maximum benefit of $1,028 to employed Canadians earning between about $7,000 and $12,000 annnualy.

The benefit is fully phased-out at about $18,000.

By adding CEC money, Singh plans to triple the support targeted to working poor Canadians.

(This is what got Rae into trouble- more welfare money makes it less attractive to actually get up in the morning and be useful to a crappy McJob!)

He also pledges a new $8 billion program to boost incomes of poor Canadians with disabilities.

(Singh`s plan is no better than the pie in the sky Rae crap! I used to have dealings with a custom furniture store and the two delivery guys were a real contrast! One guy lived in affordable housing- one of those no mortgage coop places and he did a lot of work under the table- painting houses and such- and isn’t it handy that OUR tax money made sure to set up his coop in a relatively prosperous area where he could get at those nice well paying under the table jobs! And the second guy lived in a commercial apt property and paid market rates and was always broke as he did not have handy and wealthy neigbours to hire him! And would NDP assume there would be no friction between those who get that govt aid and the others who get nothing? The disparity between those on the list and those off killed Rae and it will kill Singh too as there simply is not enough borrowed money to go around!)

Niki Ashton and Charlie Angus don’t have full anti-poverty plans yet, but elements are found elsewhere.

(And they never will get anti poverty plans put together either! Consider this mess: A 53 year old guy who is a reformed drug addict- getting methadone regularly and dealing with a bad back, blown out knees and a criminal history and limited education that renders him unemployable. His wife is an ex stripper and more or less reformed alcoholic and they have one son. And surprise- they live on welfare!)

(Dad is an enterprising sort in spite of being rather drug addled and makes a game of claiming five finger discounts. Comes out of Costco with FORTY-YES- FORTY POUNDS of cheddar cheese clenched between his sweaty thighs. Comes out of Cdn Tire with all manner of auto parts and equipment- NO sales receipts. He does under the table body work on cars and so needs tools, supplies and equipment regularly and likes the stuff at “discounted” rates. When he needs gas for his unlicensed car that he is banned from driving he does the gas and dash thing. He is a one man crime wave.)

(Recently, he got a job fixing a nice car- it was about 4-6 years old. Took the car to a local store to buy needed supplies- maybe he had permission from owner and maybe not- but if owner knew the guy had no license and no insurance and was under a life time ban from driving due to drug addictions- we can guess there would NOT have been permission offered- so guy does not ask and does not tell- just gets in a drives. On the way back he drops his cigarette and while fumbling for it- he crashes into a concrete culvert on 401- and car is wrecked.)

(Guy needs medical attention for a broken arm- and we get the bills. He knows he is in deep s++t so he gives a false name- with cops forced to waste time unravelling who he is and etc- and find out if the name and address he used were owned by people involved in his stupidity and etc- so, legal more bills. It goes to court and he pays a SMALL fine- its just govt getting back welfare money anyway and LIE-beral hug a thug judge sends him home- LIE-berals KNOW habitual criminals are immune from prosecution and it’s a waste of money to punish the dork.)

(The car owner is unhappy as his car is wrecked and insurance company does not want to pay for it as dork let a drug addict wreck it for him. Owner would SUE IF the addict had any money!)

(Will NDP wish to take money AWAY from Cdns trying to live a legitimate lifestyle so Numbskulls and tax cheats can have a nicer life? Can NDP even get serious voter attention if Cdns dig into the details of their plan? It seems highly unlikely!)

(I have had online talks with Hogs in the past and they often consider that people living in Metro Toronto Housing SLUMS are ALREADY getting MORE than they deserve! Hog entitlements trump NDP poverty plans! And a lot of other Cdns feel they are more deserving than drug addicts, pimps, whores and Black Lives matter professional complainers! NDP anti poverty plan is nothing but pre election noise from a party that will run THIRD as usual!)

Ashton would add $2 billion to the Guaranteed Income Supplement and $1 billion to the Disability Tax Credit, which she’d covert to a refundable credit so disabled Canadians without taxable incomes can benefit.

Angus would boost the Working Income Tax Benefit and improve EI maternity and parental benefits from 55% to 70% of income, capped at the maximum insurable earning of about $50,000.

(And since the only Cdns who can actually access and use maternity leave are civil service Hogs- secure in the knowledge their jobs WILL be there when they want them- and Muslims who think having five kids is a fine service to God- this improved maternity leave will only benefit a small and already elite group!)

Really, there’s a lot to choose from. Or even mix and match.

(Yes- and LOTS of options AND LOTS of ways to lose votes without the virtue of buying any new ones- unless Singh is planning to make us all rich with borrowed money- as Rae failed to do- and as Our idiot Boy is doing-without having the brains to realize he is following just following RAE!)

The NDP’s poverty discussion is a dose of authentic politics — a welcome contrast to Trudeau’s sock-and-awe and the dreadful Conservative leadership race.

(Authentic politics? That drug addict doing body work on cars under the table while living on welfare has a better grasp of politics and fiscal planning than any NDP numbskull!)

Disappointed last election, perhaps the social democrats are now rallying the courage to be what they are.

(YES! They will be third place losers as usual! Though they are likely to be superceded by Greens who have not been so forthcoming with airhead economic plans and thus MAY be taken more seriously than NDP for once!)

People watching this ad are going to get what they want out of it. If they want to see a company try to promote anti misogyny and be against toxic masculinity, that's what they'll see.

If they see a company bowing to female pressures, societal pressure, entering a public debate when they shouldn't, or see them picking on those poor, poor men, that's what they'll see.

My only question is WHY someone would want to see the latter, and not the former?

It's like the decayed cancerous body parts and bodies put on cigarette packages by law, which they knew beforehand was one of the most effective forms of advertising there is. Like putting the skulls in the ice cubes in the old magazine liquor ads.

In this case they got their wish, everybody has been pushing the ad to millions who would never have seen it otherwise.
I don't think they anticipated the way people are starting to feel about the whole elitist dictatorial mindthink the liberal agenda ( like macron and the yellow vests ) has been force feeding the peeps, just like the tyrannical globalist newspeak drooling elite has misjudged the true effect of the 90% bad coverage the MSM has been covering Trump with either.

Smokers undeterred by gruesome images on packs

A recent study in Britain found that graphic warnings on cigarette packs do not deter young smokers. Singaporeans say they could have told the British that...

...Young adults aged 18 to 29 and adults aged 30 to 39 smoke the most, with a prevalence of 16.3 per cent and 16.4 per cent respectively. The figure for the younger group aged 18 to 29 was markedly up from 12.3 per cent in 2004, when the graphic images were introduced...

...A few of those polled felt that the only ways to discourage smoking were to raise tobacco taxes and give smokers even fewer smoking zones...
https://www.straitstimes.com/singapo...mages-on-packs

In the groups the tobacco companies want to get addicted, death wish advertising is effective just like the Gillette ads are - trying to capture young shavers to form life time brand loyalty buying habits.

None of the studies I saw that say the negative ads work to reduce smoking, and there are a quite a few, took into account the real limitations of no smoking zones near children, and door ways, or in bars and restaurants and work places, nor the higher taxes and costs, nor the prevalence of NATIVE SMOKES at 1/5th the price, so they are obviously stacked to have the negative advertising directed right where it is. At the 16 to 28 year olds that are unacceptable to it. Just like the old liquor ads were.

The studies saying the ads work are there because the government wants to look like they are out to help, but they are really after your tax dollars and want people to be addicted. This generates revenue for governments and pharma and the medical community too.

I once saw a tide commercial where in one scene, a woman gets a huge splash of tomato juice on her nice white turtle neck and it looks like her breast had just been hacked off by a two handed machete swing. BREAST CANCER!!! Those images sink very deep into the subconscious where the advertisers want them to be. I remember it well, and that was twenty years ago at least.

That's what happens when the "Cry Wolf" syndrome happens - the sea levels aren't rising which is why no one believes in CC!! No evidence of CC at all - just money grabs!

Straight into general revenue , Canada and most provinces are operating in deficit , but hey we don’t need extra revenue , it is all about saving the environment.. meanwhile the government wants to grow our population to 100,000,000 to help pay for an ag8ng population .

Funny how you hate Canadian debt, but cream your jeans over a trillion-dollar U.S. deficit.

I'm beginning to think you don't wish us well, sir.

Sea levels aren't rising? Really?

Wow... okay, when parts of my town are now under water when they've never had issues before in and NOT in flood season, that's not sea levels rising. That's just some weird oceans gotta be oceans thing... Gotcha.

Excuse me while I live in obvious signs of CC and ignore your denial of it.

I have little to say about American debt . But like every kind of debt the bill comes due . I believe our bureaucracy is out of control in Canada and it appears the same in America . I route for Trump because I wish him success in draining the swamp . If he is able to slow the growth or better yet reverse bureaucratic growth you may be able to cut into your deficits , but isn’t that congress’s job ? If America can start to control their purse in about 10 years or so we in Canada might catch on , but I doubt it .

I don’t know where you are exactly , but the first thing to look at is what changes have been made to the waterfront affecting local currants .

Oh yes- petros- spreading debt around CAN make it easier to deal with and lighten the individual load!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LIE-berals tell us WE NEED immigration to help us grow the economy and make it easier to pay our debts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And then LIE-berals bring in hordes of illegals who HAVE NO HOPE of supporting themselves in Canada due to MAJOR deficiencies in education and language skills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LIE-berals tell us the newcomers will help hold up our standard of living- and then LIE-berals run out and BORROW HUGE SUMS OF MONEY they are using to BUY VOTES and to feed, house and clothe the helpless, unemployed illegals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many Cdns have noticed that our household debts, our student debts and our govt debts are ALL SOARING FASTER THAN OUR ECONOMY IS GROWING???????????????????????

LIE-berals tell us their inflation target is 2 percent and they claim they are meeting it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So why are business property taxes soaring by 25 percent?????????????????

And why are water rates soaring by anything from 4 -9 percent per year- with the 4 percent showing up in ELECTION YEARS- and the 9 percent showing up BETWEEN ELECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How is it that we can have a "booming economy" and record debt??????????????????????????

How is it that we can have a "booming economy' where all the decent private sector full time jobs DISAPPEAR - to be replaced by part time and contract CRAP????????????????????????????????????

Unless LIE-berals are LIARS?????????????????????????
