Woman stabbed in unprovoked Moss Park attack
Toronto police are searching for a suspect after a woman was stabbed in a random attack in the Moss Park area early Wednesday afternoon.
A woman in her 50s was stabbed by an unknown man around Queen Street East and Sherbourne Street around 12:45 p.m. Police say the stabbing was unprovoked.
The woman was conscious and breathing when police arrived and paramedics quickly transported her to a nearby hospital. It's unclear how many times she was stabbed.
The victim remained in hospital Wednesday afternoon with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the male suspect is in his mid-40s, standing about 6' tall and weighing 200 pounds. He was wearing a white shirt and black pants and appeared to put the knife back in his pocket, police said. Investigators said the knife was three inches long with a blue handle.
The man was last seen fleeing the scene north on George Street
