Latest on capitaism saving the world?

Canadain airline industry is in deep financial trouble and needs the government to step in and save the day.

Keep in mind these are the people who really brought the covid19 to canada. Now they need a little help with all that debt they pile up.

Not to worry. We will treat them like the oil industry and just pay the freight until capitalism can work again

Oh and as far as being the conduit through which all this death has arrved in our fair land?

Never mind about that either.

This is capitslism and nobody has to be responsible for their actions.

Would there have been a fuel shortage in Venezuela if capitalism was allowed to flourish?

First Iranian oil tanker reaches Venezuela despite U.S. threat

Quote:

Venezuela's fuel crunch

Despite having the world's largest oil reserves, Venezuela has faced fuel shortages due to a complete breakdown of the nation's refining network over the last two decades. Critics of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro blame his government for corruption and mismanagement that has led to a six-year economic crisis.
The one-prominent fuel exporter has been plagued by gasoline shortages for a while, but the problem had largely spared the capital of Caracas, where drivers now must wait in a line stretching across neighborhoods to fill up government-subsidized fuel.

Mostly a NZDoug type US attack piece but this portion of the article says a lot

Exxon is doing exactly what they need to do and remind the socialists that oil and all of the investment dollars involved is absolutely critical to the very existence of the kind of society that Leftwaffe demands

I need air travel. We aren't traveling right now because we are told we can't. It's not a natural market force and I am ok with a bailout. We are printing money anyhow.

You can fly, just be prepared to self isolate for a fortnight

The rules have made flight impractical. Air Canada has also cancelled all flights to the states. A lot of tourist destinations like Jamaica, Barbados, Bermuda are closed to all commercial travel and tourists. Yes you can technically fly. But not realistically.

we have been printing money for decades.

air travel will survive because it is as you say a necessity and the government will bail it out because as you say we live in a world where we can simply print money.

The German government bailed out Lufthansa for $9.8 billion which is $13+ billion canadian?

So expect Air Canada to cost us in that neighborhood.

Print money? Selling bonds is "printing money"? If there wasn't a buyer, money cant be printed.
